Boeing 747
 Boeing 747 je prepoznatljiv avion koji je u mnogome doprineo
daljem razvoju interkontinentalnih letova, a nadimak mu je i
danas “Kraljica neba”

 predstavlja široko trupni četvoromotorni avion sa dve palube,


namenjen izuzetno dugim linijama (osim verzije 747SR – za
kratke relacije sa velikim brojem putnika)

 prvi let obavljen je 9. februara 1969. godine, a prvi komercijalni let


22. januara 1970. godine

 ima 5 osnovnih verzija: 100, 200, 300, 400 i 8, a pomenute verzije


imaju i svoje varijante

 predstavlja najskuplji model Boeing-ovih aviona sa prosečnom


cenom od 275 miliona $

Boeing 747
 Boeing je sredinom šezdesetih godina prošlog veka radio na
velikom transportnom avionu za američku vojsku, ali je izgubio
trku sa Lokidom i njegovim C-5. Međutim, iskustvo stečeno u
razvoju velikog aviona pretočio je u Boeing 747, pošto se u
avio saobraćaju pojavila potreba za interkontinentalnim
avionom velikog kapaciteta.

Boeing 747-100
 Prvi model generacije 747, 747-100, napravljen je u fabrici u
Everetu 2. septembera 1968. godine. Prototip, nazvan City of
Everett, prvi put je uzleteo 9. februara 1969. godine, a 22.
januara 1970. godine 747-100 ostvaruje prvi komercijalni let u
bojama Pan American World Airways-a na relaciji New York-
London.

Boeing 747-200
 Iz prvobitnog 747-100 ubrzo je nastala verzija 727-200B sa
većim kapacitetom i snažnijim motorima, koji je poletio u
oktobru 1970. godine u bojama KLM-a, kao i verziji 747-200F za
teretni prevoz, 747-200SR za kratke relacije sa velikim brojem
putnika i 747-200C (kombi) za kombinovani prevoz putnika i
tereta.

opening fuselage nose and a cargo loading system;

 747 continues to be the world's fastest subsonic jetliner,
cruising at Mach .855 -- or 85.5 percent of the speed of sound.
