RABBIT CAGE

The cage area is open ground, in the area provided a closed cage so
that the rabbits can take shelter and rest. In the cage area there must
be a place to drink and feed. Even if the soil is cleared, the floor
surface of the cage must have good drainage to keep conditions dry.
Rabbits do not like a humid environment .

Postal type cage
◦ Postal type rabbit cages are usually used
for the process of mating and raising
rabbits before weaning. Rabbits are
usually weaned from their mothers after
8 weeks of age. The postal type cage is
not optimal for rearing, because the
rabbits in it will move more. During the
enlargement process, the rabbit's
movements are reduced as much as
possible so that more feed is converted
into meat
Battery type
◦ Battery type rabbit cages are best suited for rearing. In general, the
size of the cage is 60x40x40 cm, better adapted to the type of rabbit
being bred. The bigger the breed, the bigger the cage. It should be
noted, a cage that is too wide will make the rabbit move a lot while
a cage that is too narrow will be stressful. Battery type cages are
made in layers or stacked like a rack. Therefore, the bottom of the
cage must have a partition to accommodate rabbit droppings and
urine.
RABBIT FOOD
Rabbit is herbivore mamals. Due to herbivorous behavior, make rabbits
as level 1 consumers in the food chain. Consequently of that, rabbits are
forced to become food for advanced consumers or canivores, including
us humans. Different with other canivores, humans cultivate rabbits.
Many things must be considered to raise rabbits, one of them is food for
rabbits, here are some foods for rabbits:

1. Water

Like a living creature, rabbits need water, but actually rabbits don’t
really need water, because them can get it from food they eat.
2. Pellet and Hay
Pellets and hay are foods that are rich in
fiber and nutrients for rabbits. This feed can
be a staple food for rabbits, but it is
necessary to consider to the dosage,
especially pellets that contain chemicals
which if consumed in excess can cause
poisoning.

3. Vegetables and Fruits

This type of feed is used as a companion to the main feed for rabbits. For its own use, 70% consists of
vegetables and the rest is fruit. The types of vegetables and fruits that are often given to rabbits include
spinach, mustard greens, carrot leaves, carrots, cabbage, peppers, apples, pears, mangoes, papayas, bananas,
and many more.
 Rabbit Breeding Tips
Have a certified adult (pedigree, inbreed adults are not reccomended)

Set up for the most confortable cage ( wide, dry, warm, clean, good air
circulation.

Provide the best quality meals (Pellets, soybean meal, greens/pasture, fermented
meals.

Interact with your rabbit.

 Common Sickness
Scabies (caused by skin infecting parasite, unlealthy cage condition, dense cage
population) : Injection (wormectin, ivermectin), ointment, coconut oil.

Flu (caused by unhealthy cage condition/bad hygiene) : Antibiotic injections, Vitamin (B

complex), reducing cage population, improve cage air circulation.

Bloat (Wet/Fresh greens, low fibre meals, GI statis,etc) : Permethyl, Banana leaves,
Papaya leaves, honey, cumin, soybean meals, Sharp knives.
