About RAI
Retailers Association of India (RAI) is the unified voice of Indian retailers
working with all the stakeholders for creating the right environment for the
growth of the modern retail industry in India. It has a three charter aim of
Retail Development, Facilitation and Propagation.RAI is the premier body of
Retailers in India, having around 13,667 member establishments, including
large and small retailers in the country, having approximately 500,000 stores
providing direct and indirect employment to 50 million Indians.

About IGNOU
An HRD Ministry of education initiative, Indira Gandhi National Open
University (IGNOU) serves the educational aspirations of over 3 million
students in India and other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and
a network of 67 regional centres, around 2,667 learner support centres
and 29 overseas partner institutions.

About BBARL
 It is Government certified distance learning, three-year Bachelors in
Business Administration (Retailing) (BBARL)  graduation program
through Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) in collaboration with
Retailers Association of India (RAI).

 The course structure, syllabus and study material have been jointly
developed by an Expert Committee comprising retail professionals
and academicians.

Detail about Programs


 No of Years : Minimum 3 years or maximum 6 years (but additional 2 years
may be provided through the re-admission process)
 Medium of Delivery : English
 Total No of Subjects: 18 subjects (1st year - 5 subjects, 2nd year - 7 subjects
& 3rd year - 6 subjects)
 No of Sessions in a year : 15-20 sessions (2 hours each including
orientation)
 Credits/Marks: Every year workbook of certain credits need to be
completed. 4 Credits is equivalent to 50 marks.
 1st year workbook - 200 marks (16 credits)
 2nd year workbook -100 marks, (8 credits)
 3rd year workbook - 150 marks ( 12 credits)

1st Year- Diploma in Retailing

A. 4 Credits is equivalent to 50 marks. All 4 courses/subjects (16 credits ) equivalent


to 200 marks. Breakup given below:

BRL-001: 4 Credits (50 marks) BRL-003: 4 Credits (50 marks)

BRL-002: 4 Credits (50 marks) BRL-004: 4 Credits (50 marks)


Total- 200 Marks

B. BRLT-005: Internship and Viva Voce -16 credits


Workbook : 50% (8 Credits-100 marks)
Viva-voce : 50% (8 Credits-100 marks)
Total: A+ B= 400 Marks
