WASTE MATERIALS

 Domestic waste  Agricultural waste

 Factory waste  Food processing waste
 E-waste  Bio-medical waste
 Construction waste  Nuclear waste
HIERARCHY OF WASTE MANAGEMENT OPTIONS
WASTE DISPOSAL

Design , construction, operation, and maintenance of

new waste disposal and containment facilities

Isolation of contaminated ground

Remediation of contaminated sites

FOUNDATION SUPPORTING AND GROUND IMPROVEMENT

Precaution for landslidings should be considered

DRAINAGE AND FILTRATION

To limit the impact of anticipated leachate a barrier

system is required
DRAINAGE AND FILTRATION

Standards allow naturally less pervious sheet or

alternatively composite geosynthetic materials
DRAINAGE AND FILTRATION

Ground water, water table near the storage and precipitation

caused leakage, can create pollution and stability problems.
STABILIZATION

Geomembranes , geogrids , geotextiles are effective solutions

COVER

The cover must restrict the infiltration of surface water,

support vegetation
CONCLUSION

The disposal of waste materials is a major worldwide

problem. As a result, large capacity of storage areas
should be created.

To achieve this goal, the storage areas must be

considered as a continuous system, not an only one
droped area. The most important issue to be considered
is the presence of interaction between the subunits of
storage building , similar to a living organism.
