PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
RELATIONSHIP
the way in which two or more people, groups,
countries etc., talk to, behave toward and deal with
each other.
the way in which two or more people or things are
connected.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
refer to close connections between people, formed by
emotional bonds and interactions. These bonds often
grow from and are strengthened by mutual
experiences.
ELEMENTS OF PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. ATTACHMENT
a) Secure Attachment
 the primary caregiver is most of the time present and
available .
 all the emotional needs of an infant are met.
 proving a sense of security to the infant.
2. ATTRACTION
a. Transference Effect – redirection of feelings from one
person to another (usually from past experiences).
b. Propinquity or Proximity Effect – tendency for people to
form friendships or romantic relationships with those
whom they encounter often.
c. Similarity (Likeness effect)
d. Reciprocity (Mutual liking effect)
e. Physical Attractiveness
f. Personality and Traits
3. LOVE
 A strong feeling of affection towards another person that
arose from close friendship and accompanied by sexual
attraction.
 Devotion to God.

a. Intimacy
 An absolute human certainty that no one can know his
own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it
has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another
loving, caring human being.
 Refers as the lovely moment when someone understands
and validates us.

b. Commitment
 An act of deciding to consistently fulfill and live by
agreements made with another person, entity or cause.
 “Saying YES and meaning it”
c. Passion
- The intense state of being that drives and consumes a
person to pursue an interest, a vision, or a person.
