CEBU

Cebu is a large island in the Visayas region of the Philippines .


The larger Negros Island lies just across the Tanon Strait to the
west. The largest city (and the oldest in the Philippines) is Cebu
City , often called the Queen City of the South . 
Cebu consists of Cebu Island and167 surrounding islands. It is
located to the east of Negros, to the west of Leyte and
Bohol islands.
CLIMATE

There are two seasons in Cebu the wet


season and the dry season. Cebu has three
different climates, based on the distribution of
rainfall, with the most prevalent ones being Am
and Af and a very minor area of Aw.

The Cebuano people (Cebuano: Sugbuanon), are


a Visayan ethnic group in Cebu and form the
second largest cultural-linguistic group in
the Philippines.

ORIGIN

That Bohol comes from the word "Bo'ol," which refers to the
name of a place (the place thought of as the site of the Sikatuna-
Legazpi blood compact) located a few kilometers away from
Tagbilaran City is quite well-known. Some sources, however,
claim that it actually comes from the Visayan term "boho"
(hole) owing to the abundant caves, caverns, and holes in the
island.
Bohol has a total land area of 4,117.26 square kilometers and has
gently rolling terrain, ideal for commercial and industrial site
development.

CLIMATE
From November to April, the northeast monsoon (amihan)
prevails.
The summer season from May to July brings higher
temperatures and very humid days.
From August to October is the southwest monsoon (habagat)..
 higher chance of heavy showers occurs from November to
January.
LANGUAGE

Most of the people speak the native dialect


Boholano. Cebuano, Tagalog and English are
widely spoken and understood.

NEGROS ORIENTAL
• According to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority
(PSA), Hiligaynon or “Ilonggo” is the language
predominantly spoken in Negros Occidental, while “Bisaya”
and “Cebuano” are the languages used by most people in
Negros Oriental.
• Negros is an island of the Philippines located in the Visayas.
It is the fourth largest island in the country, with a land area
of 13,309.6 square kilometres.
CLIMATE
Negros Island's climate is generally pleasant with a
dry season from December to May and rainy
season from June to November.
The warmest months are April and May and the
coolest are from December to February. The
average temperature is 26°C/80°F.

Language The primary spoken language is


Cebuano and the predominant religious
denomination is Roman Catholicism.

PRODUCTS OF NEGROS ORIENTAL
The major agricultural products are copra, rice,
corn, vegetable, fruit, abaca and tobacco. The
cottage industry mainly includes stone craft, cloth
weaving, basket knitting, food processing and
reservation and T-shirt printing. The industry is
made up of sugar manufacturing, ore mining and
construction.

Dumaguete is a 3rd class city.
SIQUIJOR
Siquijor is an island province of the Philippines,
located in the Central Visaya’s Region.
Was once named by the Spaniards as “Isla del
Fuego”, or Island of Fire.
Believed to be a mystical island, full of witches and
other supernatural phenomena.
INFORMATION

Siquijor is the third smallest province in the


country, after Camiguin and Batanes. 
Languages are Cebuano, English and Tagalog.

PRODUCT OF SIQUIJOR

The major crops are corn, coconut, cassava, rice,


rubber, mango and jackfruit, etc.. The main export
products are copra, knitting craft, toy and garment.
There are 18,000 hectares of forestland with a
rather high production of timber. The fishery output
is relatively big, with not only fish farms on the sea
but also fresh water and marsh fish ponds.
