Creative Speech
• Creative speech has two aspects:

• Substance – refers to the message itself

• Conduct - conduct by which the message is


transmitted
Creative Speech comes with any of the
following approaches:
• 1. Tact – a speaker has tact when he appreciates and
considers in his speech and manners that which is proper,
becoming, or right.

• 2. Modulated Voice Pitch – Use the appropriate voice pitch


according to intent and expected reaction from the listener.

• 3. Appropriate Voice Tone – Be sensitive about the tone of


your voice. Check your intent and your expected response
from the listener.
Creative Speech comes with any of the
following approaches:
• 4. Modulated Voice Volume – the softness or loudness
of a speaker’s voice is closely related to voice tone.

• 5. Euphemism – euphemize a message or term by using


an agreeable expression as a substitute for a realistic
description of something disagreeable.
Avoid the following when you are talking
with somebody:
• 1. Mumbling
• 2. Speaking in monotone
• 3. Talking loudly or softly
• 4. Talking fast or slowly
• 5. Using Fillers
• 6. Being tactless and swearing
• 7. Uttering mispronounced words
• 8. Using incorrect grammar

Assignment: Answer the following questions

• 1. How do you see people, for instance, your classmates, friends,


teachers, school principal?
• 2. What impressions did you get out of the poem?
• 3. What could be the motive of the poet?
• 4. Explain the line: “Give the world the best you have anyway.”
