Travel fair launched urging locals to explore Mactan The
Lapu-Lapu City Government and the tourism stakeholders
are mounting a one-day Balik Turismo Travel Fair. The
fair, which will be on Saturday, Oct. 17, is expected to
generate income for the city's struggling tourism
establishments. More than 30 hotels and resorts will join
the fair aimed to stimulate local tourism. That's why I'm
calling everyone that we help each other," Chan said. "In
comparison to other local government units, Lapu-Lapu
City has found the way of striking a balance between
protecting the health of the community, safeguarding the
risks against transmission of the virus and trying to get the
tourism ecosystem back to what it was before," he said.
Andrew Acquaah-Harrison, chief executive advisor at the
GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp., the private operator
of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, said
stakeholders should continue finding solutions.

HEALTH ACCREDITATION (ACI-AHA)

Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has

received accreditation from the ACI-AHA in
recognition of the health and safety measures
implemented in Terminals 1 & 2. Mactan-Cebu
International Airport (MCIA) has received
accreditation from the ACI-AHA. MCIA is
recognized as one of the airports globally driving best
industry practices for safe travel during the pandemic.
The Airport Health Accreditation Certification was
awarded to MCIA on 26 January 2021. These health
and safety measures meet global airport standards
such as the ACI Aviation Business Restart and
Recovery guidelines, ICAO Council Aviation Restart
Task Force (CART) recommendations, as well as
other industry best practices.

Mayor Teche Sitoy-Chu, at the first meeting since these local
leaders took office.
