BENCHMARKING OVERVIEW
• Benchmarking of an automotive industry is a well established tool for
measuring and improving the quality and sales of an electric vehicle.
• Effective benchmarking enables you to quantify your designed electric
vehicle’s performance, compare your EV with other industry similar
products and identify the negative performance gaps and actions necessary
to close the gaps.
• The power of benchmarking is that it enables your EV to save enormous
amounts of time and energy by building upon the know-how of
peers ,competitors and world-class companies.
• Benchmarking forces an organisation or industry to look externally at the
competition.
• By studying the competition and selectively adopting practices from the best
of the best .

HOW TO USE THIS BENCHMARK REPORT
Step 1: Collect your EV performance data.
• Thorough , accurate data collection is the cornerstone of successful benchmarking.
• This is also the most time consuming step in benchmarking
• But you need the accurate performance data to identify the performance gaps in your
product.
• Collect the performance data of EV such as:
 Max speed
 Max torque
 Max power
 Battery capacity
 Full battery charging time
 Full charge range
 Fast charge time
Step 2: Compare your EV performance to the others
• Compare your EV performance specifications such as max
power , torque, safety, additional features, etc to the given
benchmarked examples.

Step 3: Develop strategies for improved performance

• Without an action plan to improve performance ,

benchmarking is a pointless exercise. Ironically it is the
simplest steps of benchmarking but weights more.
• Find the ways to decrease the gaps between a specification
your EV and the top ones and adapt those changes.
Step 4: Implement and monitor result.

• Once you are done with comparing and developing strategies

implement it in the production unit.
• Monitor the obtained result and again compare.
• Once all the rectifications are done then release the EV in the
market
TATA TIGOR EV

• The Tata Tigor was originated directly from the Tata Tiago (internally
called Kite 5) as it represents the four-door sedan version with a third rear
volume.
• In October 2019, Tata Motors has launched the Tigor EV for private owners.
It has an extended the range from 142 km to 213 km on a single charge
according to ARAI certification. It is reported that the Tigor EV will be the
cheapest electric car available for commercial buyers.
• The sales from April-November in 2019 of this EV is 491 units.
• This SUV price starting from Rupees 9,54,175/-

USER FEEDBACK
Electric vehicles are known for their zany designs and radical shapes, but
that’s not the case with the Tigor EV . There’s no combustion engine, of course,
although the EV’s 3-Phase AC induction motor and ancillary elements occupy
the same space in the engine bay
 The under-seat fuel tank has also made way for the 16.2kWh lithium-ion
battery pack that extends to the boot floor.
The lack of noise from the engine bay is welcome and the powertrain also
comes across as more refined than the Mahindra e2o’s.
 The charging gun is relatively heavy, so you’ll need both hands to lock it
into place. In the 36min the car is plugged in, the SOC goes up by 36%, or
enough to add 35km to range. With fast-charging, the Tigor’s battery pack is
rated to juice up to 80% in 90min
HYUNDAI KONA EV
• KONA Electric is fitted with a lithium-ion polymer battery, that offers
incomparable performance. Enjoy the flexibility of effortlessly charging it at
home or on the go, and drive towards a greener tomorrow.
• Power never looked so stylish. A zero emission electric SUV that delivers
instant acceleration and power with over an overwhelming 452* km range on a
single full charge.
• It is débuted in June 2017
• The production version was revealed later that year
• It first launched in south Korea on the first half of 2018 and rolled out
gradually worldwide afterwards.

USER FEEDBACK
In India first world class of EV with no major compromise and it has green
image in the same way it has zero tailpipe emission appeal to environmentally
conscious.
Selectable range of regenerative breaking , add ranges and aid braking
performance
 In the same way I didn’t like the EV which still have carry a huge price
premium over ICE cars in the manually which the boot size is 332 liters.
 In this it has a peace of mind with the Hyundai’s after sales wit their service
and eight year warranty.
 Rapid-charging capability is also featured, allowing the ZS EV to be
recharged to 76% in 57 minutes. If you want to charge via wall charger, it’ll take
seven-eight hours.

USER FEEDBACK
The classic EV trait of all the torque being available from standstill is best felt
in sport mode shift to “s” on the go and the nexon EV bolts forward
immediately.
The Nexon EV feels planted and it helps to have a fairly accurate steering set
up too. The only downside is the ride quality which feels a bit firmer than the
ICE Nexon.
The liquid -cooled battery pack which has a capacity of 30.2kwh. And the two
driving mode- drive and sport- the former is suitable for city driving and offers
the likelihood of maxing out the driving range
The charging toer initially for customers and it is good to know that a full
charge form a low 20% will take 8hrs at a home charger and only 60minutes if it
is plugged into a 15kw fast charger

 Mahindra E20 plus from the last one year it has been very cost effective
and cheaper so it’s best car in my opinion
It is a silent car no noise no emissions no pollution. Eco friendly vehicle.
It looks very compact but quite spacious from Inside good leg room and
head room.
The electric car market hasn’t really taken off in India as there is no
proper infrastructure and hence, one has fears before buying an electric car.
 The charging e20 initially for customers and it is good to know that a
