Play allows children to use their creativity while developing

their imagination ,dexterity and physical ,cognitive and

emotional strength.Play is important to healthy brain

development

Physical Play

Physical play is the type of play that gets the child moving from big

movements like running and jumping to small movements like picking up a

pencil or tying a knot ,throwing,kicking,skipping climbing.Kids burn

Calories through active play than any other type of lay. It help to keep them fit

and contribute to a huge range of health benefits .


Symbolic Play

Symbolic play happens when your child starts to use objects to represent

(or symbolize) other objects. Symbolic play is the way children overcome their

impulsiveness and develop the thought out behaviours that will help them with more

complicated cognitive functions . Symbolic play is a stepping stone to literacy and

numeracy. Symbolic play helps to write letters, so children’s learn to using symbols for

what they want to convey.


Pretend Play

Pretend play helps the children understand the power of

language. By pretend playing with others ,the children learn the words .

This process helps your child to make the connection between spoken

and written language. Pretend play provides your child with a variety of

problems to solve.
Games with Rules

School –age children are often found on the playground playing games with
rules at recess . They could be enjoying a game of marbles or jacks, playing hopscotch or
four square or chasing each other playing tag.
Child initiate their own games with rules ,they realize the need to
determine rules for playing the game as well as rulers for social interactions, as they play
their game. The children who play , so they can successfully follow the rules and crub
their personal ego needs.
Games with rules are often characterized by logic and order , and as children
grow older they can begin to develop strategy and planning in their game playing.
Conclusion

Play relieves stress and boredom , connects people in a positive

way ,stimulates , creative thinking and exploration , regulates emotions

and boosts confidence.
