Abstract:

• We use Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) to

detect the objects.
• The RFID reader can measure the phase of the
signals coming from responding tags.
•  The use of RFID technology is increasing in retail
stores, because it improves the performance of
automated checkout, inventory and theft
detection systems.
• This is an implementation of a retail inventory that
can perform billing process automatically from
shopping cart to the billing system present in the
supermarket.
•  These system communicate using Zigbee
technology which sends appropriate product
information to the system for billing.
Existing System Proposed system
Now a day’s barcode system is used In the advanced technology, RFID system
for billing process used for indoor navigation of the robot.

The classical system for billing depends We are identifying products by using

on visual detection of barcode of the RFID enabled shopping carts and
products properly by optical communicating the data to the billing
sensors which are fragile and system by means of Zigbee
aren’t rugged
Drawbacks of existing system:

High cost of scanner

Fragile and delicate scanner
Low accuracy
Cannot scan if barcode sticker is obstructed
Advantages of proposed system:

 Cheap RFID scanning system

 Rugged scanner system
 High accuracy
 Can scan the products irrespective of the
packets
Working Principle:

 A shopping cart system is equipped

with RFID reader interfaced with a
microcontroller which has other
peripherals like LCD and Zigbee.
 When a product with an RFID sticker
is scanned at the scanner, the
product information is displayed in
the LCD and the data is transmitted
to the billing system via Zigbee
module.
 At the receiver section a PC is
connected with a Zigbee receiver
which receives the data and appends
it to the system for billing purposes.
