This bar graph compares three main living issues
encountered by locals in seven UK cities in the
period of 2008. These popular issues were
related to health services, air pollution, and
finally education and training.
Overall, health services proved to be the most
important living issue in most cities, with
education and training a close second. Least
worrisome of all to UK residents was air
pollution that year which on average seemed
around five times less important to city
population there.
Looking at the graph, health services problem in Belfast
was the highest concern with almost 60% and Cardiff
scored the second with lesser around 2%. Birmingham,
London, Newcastle and Manchester came next slightly
different with approximately just above 50%. Glasgow was
the lowest percentage with below 50%. Education and
training, as the second concern, placed London, Glasgow,
Belfast and Birmingham as the top percentages with a little
difference with about 52 until 53%. Cardiff, Newcastle and
Manchester were the lowest ones with around 45 until
51%.
In terms of air pollution issue, Manchester led
with just a little above 15% and it then followed
by London and Cardiff with around 13 and 12%
respectively. Birmingham and Glasgow had the
same percentage for this problem with about
9%. Belfast and Newcastle had the smallest
percentage with around 7 and 5% each.

Overall, female students led the numbers in all


subjects, except art and design. English language
and Literature were the most popular subject for
both male and female students, whilst
Philosophy and History and Archeology had the
lowest numbers for both.
Over the period, the trend of student numbers
were fluctuated with the highest was in 2012
and the lowest was in 2015.
