    component of NSTP that focuses on training
    student to become teachers of reading-writing
    literacy and numeracy to children , out-of
    school youth and other segments of society.

    Effectively engaging families and communities around


    student literacy can lead to increased reading and writing
    skills for student. This is true for families from different
    background and income levels (henderson & mapp,
    2002) parent literacy training that leads to economic self
    sufficiency.
    What is the role of literacy in the community?

    •Person with adequate literacy skills maintain better


    health through their ability to understand and interpret
    health information . The sharing of ideas, perspective
    and concerns also leads to greater levels of mutual
    understanding and caring , and ultimately strong
    community spirit.
    What is the relationship between school and
    community?
    •School community relationship is a mutual understanding
    through which the school and the achievement of goals of the
    community and school too. School is a social organization
    functions properly on the effective interrelationship within it and
    with its associate communities.
