WHAT IS SKILL DEVELOPMENT?

• Skill development is a process of identifying your skill gap and

ensuring you develop these skills. Your skills determine your
ability to execute plans and achieve your goals. Skill
development and training is an integral part of an employee’s
life. Organizations that encourage skill development have a
stronger workforce, employees are motivated and engaged, and
have higher productivity.
YOUR SKILL DEVELOPMENT – HARD AND
SOFT SKILLS:

• There are two groups of skill

• Hard skills
• Soft skills
HARD SKILLS:

• Skills related to tasks which can be quantified are known as

hard skills. These tend to be knowledge based like expertise in
a subject, certifications, and technical skills.
SOFT SKILLS:

• Skills related to personality are known as soft skills. These

include interpersonal skills like communication skills,
flexibility, patience, negotiation skills, relationship building,
problem solving, decision making etc.
CONT…

• A lot of people don’t understand that one needs to have a balance of both
hard skills and soft skills to be successful in professional and personal life.
• When you want to achieve your goals, your skills become your tools. If
you have the right tools accomplishing goals becomes easy. Without the
right skills you’ll not be able to work towards your goal, it will increase
frustration, and lower your efficiency. That’s the reason why skill
development and training is important. Channelize your energy to
understand what the skills you have and which ones need to be developed
and polished.
WHY SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IS
IMPORTANT?

• Skills development program is important for leading the

competitive advantage. The world is moving fast and rapidly
changing.New technologies keep invading most industries,
transforming work processes and consumer expectations. The
window of opportunity is closing. Companies need to start up
skilling their staff now, so they’re still relevant tomorrow.
WHY SKILL DEVELOPMENT?

Skills development is the process of (1)

identifying your skill gaps, and (2)
developing and honing these skills. It is
important because your skills determine
your ability to execute your plans with
success.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN
PAKISTAN:

• Technical and vocational education is becoming increasingly

important in Pakistan. If you work in a manual or technological
field, you will require some technical and vocational training. It
was discovered and observed that technical and vocational
education was exclusively provided to low-level workers in
Pakistan in the past. The instruction covered how to perform
manual activities as well as how to operate various types of
machines.
CONT..

• However, the scenarios have now been drastically altered! Information

technology, Programmer logic controller, fashion design, dressmaking,
beautician, tourism, and other skill development training programs in
Pakistan have lately begun to place a high value on technical and
vocational education programs. Today, every sector in Pakistan refuses to
hire a single employee unless they have acquired a particular ability level.
Problems faced by Pakistan due to unskilled Youth:

The research found that Pakistani youth face issues such as

• Increased discomfort
• A limited social circle
• Inferiority complex
• Restriction to personal progress
• Low self-esteem
• Increased worry
• Sadness
• Mental health issues
Main Reason for unemployment:

• Our society is facing a lot of unemployment. The main reason

for this is the lack of skilled people. Because our community is
less inclined towards skills or does not have access to skills,
unemployment is rising day by day, no less than a fistula.
What is the solution to unemployment in Pakistan:

• The first step in reducing unemployment in Pakistan is for

Pakistan's educational system should be equitable and well-
managed. Where skills programs are offered, well-known
training and technical institutes must be established. To solve
this kind of issue, organizations start a skill development
program to learn a skill and earn money. in this way, they solve
all these problems caused by unemployment.
