• A big usually made of buri (Palm Leaf)
and nito (black fern)

MARINDUQUE: MORIONES
MASKS
Moriones Masks
• This masks are made of wood, on which an imagined face of a
Roman or Syrian Soldier is carved.
• Moriones Festival, a festival held on Holy Week. The “Moriones”
are men and women in the costumes and masks replicating the
garb of biblical Roman soldiers as interpreted by local folks.

ROMBLON: MARBLE PRODUCTS
• Known as the “Marble Country” of the Philippines

PALAWAN: MANUNGGAL JAR

Manunggul Jar
• It is an ancient burial jar dated back to Neolithic Period.
Elements:
Form, shape, texture, value, color

Principles:
Balance, rhythm, pattern, unity
VISAYAS
NEGROS: SINAMAY

The Negrenses also weave fabric from Abaca twine as indigenous


plants similar to Banana known as Sinamay.

Elements: color, texture, line value

Principles: pattern, unity


VISAYAS
PANAY ISLAND: PATADYONG
• Is a wrap-around piece of cloth wear by women. A skirt paired
with a kimono.
• Traditional materials used for patadyong weaving are cotton &
abacca.

Elements: line, color, value, shape, texture

Principles: balance, contrast, rhythm, unity


GENERALIZATION
• MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Roblon, Palawan) Region IV-B in Luzon & and there
are some arts orginated form Visayas Region.
• Characteristics of MIMAROPA & VISAYAS arts & crafts
• Philippine arts are the things that all Filipino should be proud of, for it tells the magnificent
culture and talent of Filipinos.

EVALUATION
• Create an art or crafts using localized materials using the rubrics provided
Example: used bottles, cartoons, old clothes, used papers/newspaper

• Present your output and explain the following


1. What are the characteristics of your arts and crafts.
2. What particular values you have learned from the activity
3. How can you apply this in to your day-to-day activity?
