NEGATIVE ADVERBS
• NEGATIVE ADVERBS (SUCH AS "NEVER", "SELDOM", "RARELY", "ONLY IN", "ONLY IF" NO
LONGER, AND "LITTLE") ARE THOSE WHICH DON'T NEED THE WORD "NOT" TO CONVEY
A NEGATIVE MEANING.
• YOU CAN INVERT A NEGATIVE ADVERB FOR EMPHASIS, DRAMATIC PURPOSE OR
FORMALITY.

TO INVERT THE NEGATIVE ADVERB IN A SENTENCE THAT HAS AN AUXILIARY VERB (BE /


HAVE / HAD / ETC):
1) MOVE THE ADVERB TO THE BEGINNING OF THE SENTENCE. 
2) INVERT THE SUBJECT AND AUXILIARY VERB.

2) MOVE THE ADVERB TO THE BEGINNING OF THE SENTENCE.
3) INVERT THE SUBJECT AND THE AUXILIARY VERB.
