WHAT IS LEADERSHIP?

GPP 3O1: Grade 11 Open Leadership & Peer Support

PRAYER/ REFLECTION:
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF ENTHUSIASM
• Help each other to be right, not find fault;
• Look for ways to make new ideas work, not find reasons why they won’t;
• Check things out and not make negative assumptions with one another;
• Help each other to win and take pride in each others’ victories;
• Speak positively about each other, our students and about our school at every opportunity;
• Maintain a positive outlook no matter what the circumstances;
• Act with initiative and courage, as if it all depends on us;
• Do everything with enthusiasm‐ it is contagious;
• Give away whatever it is we want to receive: love, respect, patience,
understanding, power;
• Never lose faith and never give up because the line between breaking down
and breaking through can be very thin
DAILY ICE BREAKER:
GENIE LAMP
• You are walking along a beach and come across an old lamp washed up on
the shore. You pick it up, give it a rub and out pops a genie, offering you
three (conditional) wishes. The wishes are:

• You will live for another 10 years, but one random person in the
world will lose 10 years from their life. Do you take it?

• You have the power to change one thing about world – what would
that be?

• You develop one super hero power; (flight, invisibility etc…) –

what would that be?
LEADERSHIP QUOTATIONS

others to do great things.” – Austin et. al. (2008)
