Look at these pictures. Can you
describe this place?
Read the following text.
Paragraph 1
Malioboro is a wonderful place in
Yogyakarta. It is a picturesque and romantic
place to spend your weekend. There are many
good spots for taking pictures. There are two
historical buildings at the end of the street. There
is a big shopping mall in the center of Malioboro.
If you want to buy some souvenirs, there are
many cheap things you can get from the shops
along the street. Sometimes, there is a traditional
performance held in some parts of Malioboro.

Use “There is” and “There are” to describe the
objects you can see in a place.
There Is Singular/uncountable noun

There are many souvenirs you can buy in
Malioboro. Some of them are expensive, but
many of them are cheap. Key chain is one of a
cheap souvenir. You can get it at the shops
along the pedestrian area. Key chain is used for
holding keys. Its color varies from black, brown,
silver, red, and others. It is made of woods or
metals. Many of them are in pocket-sized. It can
be round, square, or oval.
