OBJECTIVES OF HRM

 To help the organization to attain its goals effectively and


efficiently by providing competent and motivated employees.
 To utilize the available human resources effectively.

 To provide organizations with well trained and well motivated


employees.
 To increase the fullest the employee’s job satisfaction and self-
actualisation.
 To develop and maintain the quality of work life (QWL) which
makes employment in the organisation a desirable personal and
social situation.
OBJECTIVES OF HRM
 To help maintain ethical policies and behavior inside and
outside the organization.
 To establish and maintain cordial relations between employees
and management.
 To reconcile individual/group goals with organizational goals.
CATEGORIES OF OBJECTIVE
 HRM objectives are four folds- societal, organizational, functional,
and personal.

SOCIETAL OBJECTIVES:
  To be ethically and socially responsible to the needs and
challenges of organizaiton.
 To minimizing the negative impact of such demands upon the
organization.

 To use their resources for the society’s benefit in ethical ways may
lead to restrictions.

 For example, the society may limit HR decisions through laws that
enforce reservation in hiring and laws that address discrimination,
safety or other such areas of societal concern.
ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
 To recognize the role of HRM in bringing about
organizational effectiveness.
 To assist the organization with its primary objectives.

 T o serve the rest the organization by connecting all the


departments.

 ROLE - HR Planning, employee relations, Selection,


Training and development, Appraisal, Placement,
Assessment
FUNCTIONAL OBJECTIVES: 
 To maintain the department’s contribution at a level
appropriate to the organization’s needs.
 Resources are wasted when HRM is either more or less
sophisticated to suit the organization’s demand.
 The department’s level of service must be tailored to fit
the organization it serves.     

 ROLE -They perform the role of appraisal,


placement and assessment.
PERSONAL OBJECTIVES:

 To assist employee in achieving their personal goals, at least


insofar as these goals enhance the individual’s contribution
to the organization.

 Personal objectives of employees must be met if workers


are to be maintained, retained and motivated. Otherwise,
employee performance and satisfaction may decline and
employees may leave the organization.
 ROLE - Training and development, Appraisal,
Placement, Compensation, Assessment
IMPORTANCE OF HRM
 At Enterprise Level:
1. Good HRM practices help in attracting and retaining the
best people in the organization.
2. Enables training people for different jobs
3. Developing right attitude towards job and company
4. Developing right team spirit among employees
5. Developing loyalty and commitment through rewards
IMPORTANCE OF HRM
 At individual level : effective management helps in following
1. Promote team work and team spirit
2. Offer excellent growth opportunities to people
3. Allow people to work with commitment

 At societal level : effective management helps in following


1. Employment opportunities are created
2. Scarce talent are put to best use.
3. Companies those treat the employees well race above others.
