Click discard to
make it black and
white.
Select the shape
tool and choose
your shape. The
Polygon shape is a
good one to start
with.
Click on ‘Properties’
select ‘Fill’ and click on
the one with the red
strike through it. And
click ‘Stroke’.

Hold down on the ‘Shift’ key

whilst your drawing your
shape to keep it even. Fill
the whole face. Make the
colour and the outline of
your shape blank.
Click on ‘Paths’ and
select you polygon
layer. Then click
‘Make selection’
this will make your
shape a “live path”.
Click your portrait image in
‘Layers’ window and press ‘Ctrl’ +
‘C’ to copy than ‘Ctrl’ + ‘V’ to
paste. This will create a new layer
in your layers window where your
portrait has been cut into the
shape you drew
Delete your shape
layer by clicking the
‘Backspace’ button.
1. Make sure ‘Show
Transform Controls’ 3. Rotate
box is ticked. the layer

2. Select your
cut out shape
layer.
Repeat slides 5-10 making your shape slightly smaller than your first shape.
And again.
And again, until your final shape is nice and small.
