Introduction
I have been asked to help design and build a network and computing solution for your
friend’s music shop, ‘First Music’

‘First Music’ does not have any computer equipment so my plan should include a
complete network and computer system that meets these requirements and future
expansion plans.

‘First Music’ will sell new and used music and allow customers to get ‘online’ in the store

and download music. I will also be planning to offer classes on how to download music

and configure MP3 devices.

Gaming experience In LAN
Network setup- what do you need?

To start off with you will be needing a internet router which has a internet connection coming from it so that you
can connect to the internet and have connection for your console or PC and then you can join random people or
your friends.

Wired or wireless?

A wired connection is a better connection because it connected through a cable not wirelessly when a wireless
connection is present there is a lot of traffic and your speeds will be slower compared to wired connections.

Compare Speeds

Speeds are better when using a wired connection because there is no traffic for your wifi and there is no hold up
because there is a wire connected straight into the back of your PC

Are there different upload and download speeds?

The download speed for a wired connection is 100 Mbps and the upload speed is 5 mbps input and output which
means that your game shouldn't lag which also make gaming a pleasure
Examples of gaming experience when using LAN
When your not at home you use wireless wifi such as free wifi at a restaurant, but when you at
home up might use wireless wifi and when you are using a console or a PC you will prefer to use a
wired internet connection because it is much stronger because it is a straight connection into the
back of your device and there is also no traffic because your connection is not floating in the air to
get to your console or PC.

So say if you was using a wireless connection while gaming you will be able to see a difference to
when you are using a wired connection because when you are using a wired connection there is a
wire plugged into your computer, which is giving wifi to your PC but when you connect to wifi using
a wireless connection you internet connection is floating around so u can get to you, so it is almost
like your driving a car there is going to be traffic if you are coming home from work on a friday night
because everyone is on the school run and also going home from work just like you, but when you
are driving in afternoon on a sunday there will be barely any traffic because everyone is at home
and there is also no school
LAN network
This is a ethernet cable and it provides a stable and reliable internet
connection for a PC and or a game console, then you will be able to see a big
change/difference compared to when you was using an wireless connection.
Gaming experience In WAN

Compare Speeds of connections available.

The speeds of WAN can reach up to 150 mbps, but some WANs can reach up to 1 gigabytes but this is not really
too normal because it is really expensive to setup and maintain.

Upload and Download speeds

The upload and download speeds for WAN might be a bit slower because it is wide area network but that is the
way that you can play with new people online and friends.

Fibre cable, 4G or 5G or standard copper cables.

Fibre cable will be better than 4G or 5G or copper cable because it uses light that is shot through a glass tube,
which is much faster than any other cabling or connection because light is even faster than sound.

Reliability of connection - What are the effects of loss of connection in WAN environment.

The reliability of WAN would be not that good because there is a lot of people that use it because it is the way that
people connect to each other so that they can play with each other.

This table shows that your internet speeds are better in the early morning when everyone
is at work and also school and then worsen when everyone comes home from work and
school.

The result for performance for the two network types show big
differences in some sections such as speed and download speed
but on the other hand the upload speed for both network types are
very similar.

From the result I have reached LAN is better because the speed
can go up to 1000 mbps and the download speeds can reach up to
50 mbps.
Conclusion
In my opinion I think that LAN with a ethernet connection straight into the back of your
PC is perfect for gaming compared to a wireless connection through wifi, even though
it’s much more tidier compared to having a ethernet connection but there is ways around
making your gaming set look tidy, such as using cable management things that will
make sure that your wiring is kept nice and neatly together under your desk.

Another reason why I would always pick an ethernet connection straight into the back of
my PC would be because it is way more reliable because there is no traffic for the
internet to get to your PC but with wireless internet connection there is traffic.
