 Established in 1969, the Temi Tea is a heritage tea garden.
ACHIEVEMENTS
 The factory unit for the same became operational by 1977 and the

The estate has a sanctioned strength of 427 workers. The government in
last 23 years, since 1994 has made the following provisions:
1. Increased the minimum wages from Rs. 20 per day to Rs. 300 per
day currently.
2. The estate has obtained a creche, dispensary, ambulance facility
WORKERS and primary school from the government.

& 3. Addition of the workers lunch shed and rain protected leaf
weighment area.

 Since 2015 the government through NEC funding provided
the factory with new and efficient dryers.
 Tea tasting room by buying delegates have been added.
 Office – SAP B1, the Germany based software has been

 Temi Tea Estate has diversified from public auction to private
auction & retail market.
 Temi has both China & Clonal varieties.
 It also has the speciality Tea of white, Green and Oolong

 Around 2005, the garden as Temi switched from conventional to
ORGANIC “Organic” method of production and by 2008 it was declared fully
TRANSACTION organic.
 Currently the Estate has the certification from NOP, NPOP,
CERTIFICATE European Union (EU) and Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS).

 Interested owners of nearby homestays were given training for a month.
INITIATIVE TAKEN  Zip Lining and Paragliding was launched on commission basis.
FOR TEA TOURISM  Tourists are taken to Maenam Sanctuary for bird watching and nearby
trekking places.
