ELECTRICI

TY
Electricity is one of the most important
types of energy and power that can be
easily changed to other forms.
 fuel diverts chemical GENERATING ELECTRICITY:
energy into thermal
energy or heat
 Heat energy causes
water to boil and
evaporate into the
steam.
 The steam flows
(kinetic energy)and
causes a turbine to turn
on a generator
 generator changes
kinetic energy, by
spinning, to electrical
energy
STATIC ELECTRICITY
• when electricity gathers in one place
• Examples:
CURRENT
ELECTRICITY
• electricity that moves from one place to
another place
• Examples:
3. POWER (P) 1. VOLTAGE (V)
• Voltage current = power • electric force that makes electricity
• The bigger the voltage and the bigger the run through a wire
current, the more electrical power we have. • Measure: volts
• Measure: watts • different voltages are supplied by
different cells or batteries.

2. CURRENT (I)
• an electrical charge in motion
• It consists of a flow of negatively charged
electrons
• Measure: amperes
