• He has served Indian Railways for 18 years in various
capacities in Operation and Maintenance of Rolling Stock
including Diesel-Electric Locomotives, Planning for asset
replacement and acquisition over South Central and East
Central Railway.
• Presently, he is serving as Director in Ministry of Housing
and Urban Affairs, Government of India since October,
2015 and handling matters related to Urban Transport and
Metro Rail Projects in India.

• Shri Indrajit Singh is an officer of Indian Railway Service of
Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) of 1986 batch.
• He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from IIT-Kanpur.
• He has around 30 years of experience in various posts like
Dy.CQM, Dy.CME in RCF/Kapurthala, CRSE, ADRM in
NF Railway, ED/Carriage in RDSO etc.
• Presently, he has been posted as Chief Design Engineer in
Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli.
• He has received GM award thrice during the career.
 Shri Laghu Parashar,
Senior Adviser,SMART-SUT,GiZ(India)
• He has more than 14 years of experience in planning and
implementing the sustainable urban mobility solutions.
• Some of the sustainable urban transport projects which led by
him are BRTS in Jaipur and Amritsar, successful run of city bus
operation in Jaipur, Indore, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
• One of the ideas in rural transport has taken final shape as
Ajeevika Grameen Parivahan Yojna (AGPY) by Ministry of
Rural Development, Government of India.
• He has also developed a knowledge management center (KMC),
a live web portal for Indian urban transport database and
information.

• He graduated in Bachelor of Technology (in Electronics), has more than
10 years of experience in the cards and payment industry.
• Before starting PayCraft, he has performed various roles for world
leading companies like Ernst & Young and HSBC Global Technology.
• While working at HSBC, he worked in deploying EMV smart card
solution for 5 countries in Middle East.
• Currently, he is working as Director with PayCraft Solutions and
engaged in various key projects like technical support to Mercury (a
domestic payment scheme in UAE), authored the specifications for
‘National Common Mobility Card’ for National Payments Corporation
of India, designed and implemented products on UPI & Bharat QR
Platform etc.
 Prof H M Shivanand Swamy

• An economist & urban and regional planner, has been an
educator, researcher, policy advisor and consultant on urban
transport planning and management.
• Instrumental in conceptualisation and introduction of master
degree programmes in Infrastructure Planning, and Urban
Transport Planning and currently involved in developing a work-
integrated master degree program in urban transport management
for in-service officials.
• Currently leading a ‘Leaders Programme in Urban Transport
Planning and Management’ aimed at building leadership in urban
transport development in India.
• Instrumental in planning, designing and operationalising the Bus
Rapid Transit System (BRTS) in Ahmedabad, Surat, Hubli-
Dharwad, Indore and provided support to the Union Ministry of
Urban Development.
 Prof Sundaravalli Narayanaswami

• She is the Chairperson, Public Systems Group, IIM Ahmedabad.
• She earned her PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from IIT
Bombay
• Her teaching interests are in Transportation Studies (Urban, Intelligent Systems,
Heavy and Light rails, Transport Infrastructure), Operations Research in public
systems, Operations Management, Artificial Intelligence and Government
Systems and Policies.
• She was awarded the Fellow of the British Computer Society in 2008.
• While in Abu Dhabi, she had served as the Youth Professional Group
representative of the entire Middle East region for the British Computer Society.
• She is the honoured recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award for the year
2018 from the International Society of Industrial Engineering and Operations
Management (IEOM), received in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Workshops, Mechanised Laundries, Modernisation of

five years, from its very beginning and is presently on deputation
as Chief General Manager / Corporate Planning looking after
Project Financing, Planning & Co- ordination and Land
Acquisition and Rehabilitation.

• He has expertise in change management, strategic management,
urban transport and supply chain expert.
• He has specialized experience in using ICT to make
transformational changes, Instrumental in visualizing and
implementing IT systems including Materials Management
Systems, E-Procurement and E-Auctions in Large Scale
Government and Public Sectors.

• Shri Ramnath Subramaniam is a Management graduate, who started his career
as an Equity Research Analyst and went on to become Executive Director with
Goldman Sachs Asset Management
• He joined as Executive Director, Nagpur Metro and coordinated the entire fund
raising activity of 630m Euros for the Nagpur Metro project.
• Under the able guidance of Hon M.D. Maha Metro Mr.Brijesh Dixit he played a
critical role in implementing various innovative strategies in Nagpur Metro.
• He is now working on raising close to 850m Euros for the Pune Metro Project
and also looking at replicating all of the above mentioned innovative strategies
in this project.
• He is also focusing on Non-fare revenue optimization for both Nagpur & Pune
Metro project.
 Shri Joe Paul
Jt. General Manager (Water Transport) Kochi Metro Rail Ltd.
• Lt. Cdr. Joe Paul (Retd.) is an alumnus of Naval Academy Mandovi and was
commissioned into the Corps of Naval Constructors in August 2002.
• He has served in various capacities during his tenure in the Indian Navy
including that of Ship Refit Manager, Ship Building Manager and was associated
with the construction of Water Jet Fast Attack Crafts and the Anti-Submarine
Warfare Stealth Corvette at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, Kolkata.
• After retirement from active service in 2012 he delivered the largest Cable Ship
Repair vessel built in the Middle East for E-Marine, a sister concern of Etisalat.
• He has been employed with the Kochi Metro Rail Limited since January 2017
and is actively involved in the design of the Water Metro Project.

with State & Central agencies.

• He has past experience as Urban Planner with Aarvee Associates, Hyderabad

• He has more than 30 years of experience of working with many organizations
like RCF/Kapurthala, Northern Railway, DMRC (on multiple posts), Dhaka
Mass Transit Company Ltd. in various capacities.
• Working with DMRC as Sr. DGM (Rolling Stock).
• He has played a key role on the project ‘Consultancy Services of Design,
Construction, Supervision, Procurement, Support & Management’ in Dhaka
Mass Rapid Transit Development Project, Bangladesh.
• Working as Sr. DGM/RS/DMRC, he has played a vital role in commissioning of
Pink Line (i.e Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar).
 Shri C N Singh
CEE (Rolling Stock) Metro Railway, Kolkata
• He belongs to Indian Railway services of Electrical Engineering of 1993 batch.
• He has done his graduation from NIT and presently doing project work on
reliability at IIT/Kharagpur.
• He has working experience in Metro of six years in Power Supply, HVAC &
System Design.
• He is presently working as in-charge of Rolling Stock, Maintenance and
Operation at Metro Railway, Kolkata from the last one and half years.
 Shri Pradeep Ahirkar
Chief Project Manager (Vadodara) NHSRC Ltd.
• He joined Indian Railways in the year 1998.
• During his career, he has been posted on various key positions like
Sr.DE/N/BRC, Sr.DE/Co./RTM, Sr.DE/Co./BRCetc. and presently associated
with National High Speed Rail Corporation as Chief Project Manager, Vadodara.
• He holds a degree in Bachelor of Engineering (in Civil). He has obtained
training Heavy Haul Transportation from JINGTONG University (China), High
Speed Training from JICA (Japan), Management Training from ICLIF
(Malaysia) and INSEAD (Japan).
• Some of his important papers are ‘Fast pace remodeling at Godhra Yard’ in
IPWE’16and ‘Construction of RUB by relieving girder method under SR
40Kmph’ in IPWE’17.
