Q NO. 1)

What is climate change, explain

any five reasons that help to
trigger this change.
ANS 1 )
Climate change is a change in the Earth’s normal weather
patterns for different climates. The Earth has had
cooler and warmer times. However, it is now getting
warmer because global warming.
Burning of Fossil Fuels:
When fossils fuels are burnt, a large amount of carbon
dioxide is released. As a greenhouse gas it traps more
heat when releases into the air which causes damage in
ozone layer, hence, climate change.
Deforestation:
Trees help to regulate the climate by absorbing CO2 from
the atmosphere. So when they are cut down, that beneficial
effect is lost and the carbon stored in the trees is released
into the atmosphere, adding to the greenhouse effect.
Fertilizers containing nitrogen:
produce nitrous oxide emissions.
Increasing livestock farming:
Cows and sheep produce large amounts of methane when they
digest their food.
Industries and urban development:
The development of urban areas affects the
environment adversely. Since these urban areas
contain industrial units and factories, more
carbon dioxide is being emitted to the
atmosphere. Raw materials used for constructing
buildings such as sand, wood and cement are
produced by exploiting nature.
Q NO.2)

How is climate change

affecting the planet earth
right now, suggest any five
measures to prevent the
devastating situation.
ANS 2)
EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE:
• Plants; Some plants produce flower buds earlier because of
warm temperatures. Overnight frosts kill these buds. And
affects plants population.
• Animals; They have to migrate to places with a suitable climate
in order to survive, grow, and reproduce.
• Humans; higher temperatures and changing weather patterns
cause: decrease in fresh water supplies, droughts, floods, crop
damage, pollution, disease as mosquitoes and ticks survivor
longer, increase in consumption of electricity.
MEASURES FOR PREVENTION:
• Reduce the use of fossil fuel
• Use of fossil fuels
• Opt for alternate energy solutions
• Use recycled materials
• Produce energy from waste
• Control deforestation
• Less use of herbicides and pecticides.
