What is Mental Health?
Mental health is "a state of well-being in which the
individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope
with the normal stresses of life, can work productively
and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his
or her community", according to the World Health
Organization. 
Mental Health is important at every stage of life ,
from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
Mental and Emotional Health is important because it’s a
vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts ,
behaviors and emotions.
According to (Manitoba , ND ) a person with good
Mental and Emotional Health often posseses the
following qualities:

1. Sense of well-being and satisfaction.

2. Ability to enjoy life , to laugh , and to have fun.


3. Participation in life to the fullest extent
possible , through meaningful activities
and positive relationships.
4. Ability to deal with life’s stresses and to
bounce back from adversity.
5. Capacity to change , grow , and experience a
range of feelings , as lifes circumstances change
6. Self- care that attends to the needs of the whole
person-mind, body , spirit , creativity, intellectual
development , health and so on.
7. Ability to care for others.

8. Self-confidence and good self-esteem.

In this Activity students will describe their mental and emotional
health. They will form three groups and they will pick the task
they are going to perform.
• Express their feelings using emotions
• Express their feelings in spoken poetry
• Express their feelings through rap.
