 Reported speech gives the idea of a speaker’s
words.

Not all of the exact words are used; pronoun and


verb forms may change.

Quotation marks are not used.

The rules of reported speech:

1. In reported speech we don’t use the quotes (“).

2. Every kind of sentences (statement, command,


question, etc) should be changed into affirmative.

3. The tenses should be changed.
