PAPER BATTERY

Introduction

• A paper battery is an energy storage device.

• It is used as a battery and also as a good capacitors.

• It is formed by combining two things which are carbon nanotubes and

the cellulose based paper.

• The creation of the Paper Battery drew from a diverse pool of disciplines, requiring

expertise in materials science, energy storage and chemistry.

PAPER BATTERY

WHAT IS PAPER BATTERY

 A paper battery is a flexible, ultra-thin energy storage and production device formed by
combining carbon nanotubes with a conventional sheet of cellulose-based paper.

•A paper battery acts as a both high-energy battery and super-capacitor,

combining two components that are separate in traditional electronics.

CARBON NANOTUBES
Rolled at angle
• carbon nanotubes is the main concept behind paper battery.

•Carbon nanotubes( CNTs; also known as bucky tubes) are

allotropes of carbon with a cylindrical nanostructure.

•CNTs exhibit extraodinary strength and unique electrical

properties, and are efficientthermal conductors.

PAPER BATTERY

WHY TO USE PAPER BATTERY

 Ultra – thin size and flexible

structure .

 Exhibits property of super- capacitor (22 F- 36 F per gram)

 Operating temperature (-75 to 100 degree

Celsius).

 Provide both long-term ,steady power production and bursts of energy.

 Cost-effective.

PAPER BATTERY

PRATICAL USES

• Can be used to power smart tags.

• Can be used to power signal use medical devices.

• Can be used to make items like gaming cards interactive at very low cost.

PAPER BATTERY

CONCLUSION
 The Glucose activated battery fabricated by a plastic lamination technology has
been demonstrated for on demand bio-application and disposal usages.
 Many different techniques are available to harvest raw energy to power
wearable electronics, but the amount of raw energy and surface area or net mass
that the wearable device permits limit the power yield.
 Thus all the different aspects of paper based battery fabrication technology with a
modification like glucose based paper battery, polymer based paper battery, Li
based paper battery have been studied.
