• Real name: Madeleine Sophie Townley
• Born: on 12 December 1969 in London
• The eldest daughter of David R. and Patricia B. Townley
• Sisters: Gemma and Abigail Townley
• In New Collage, Oxford studied Music but one year later switched to Politics, Philosophy and
Economics
• In 1991 married to Henry Wickham
• Changed her name to Madeleine Wickham
• They have four sons and one daughter
Career
• Write her first novel at the age of 24: The Tennis Party became a top
ten best-seller
• First novel under the pseudonym Sophie Kinsella:

• Her best known for writing the Shopaholic novels series and there is a film which bases on one of these
books.

Story
• Katie has a cool job in London and lives her perfect life. However, happening an unexpected twist which
is she is fired. She doesn’t get a job so she has to travel to her famlily’s farm in Somerset where helps to
her familiy to set up a vacation business.
• The story begins only after that. One day her ex-boss, Demeter Farlowe, turns up as a guest. Katie
promises that she will ruin Demeter’s vacation. During the revenge Katie realise that her boss life is also
not perfect. By end of the vacation they become friends.
