• A wireless communication technology

which utilizes light to transmit data and
position between devices.
• Transmitting data at high speeds over the
visible light, ultraviolet, and infrared
spectrums
• Presently only LED lamps are used
• Point–to–point data communication
technique
02

MOTIVATION
• An interest in undertaking a project in
the area of research of wireless data
transmission.
• Latest technology that is being studied
and developed for secure and faster data
transfer
• Idea of data transmission using light
makes it fascinating.

DESCRIPTION: In LiFi, current is applied to a LED
DESCRIPTION: 1.LiFi uses VLC or infrared and near UV light bulb, a stream of light is emitted from the bulb
spectrum rays rather than radio waves. using this technique data is transferred at high speeds.
2. Lifi has great contribution in security.
3. LiFi has uses in many things like in healthcare &
education also in road safety it has an important use.
GAP ANALYSIS 04

LINKING RURAL COMMUNITIES WITH THE LIFI:

• MANY RURAL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY ARE AWAY FROM THE IMPACT OF
DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY. USING LIFI TECHNOLOGY IN RURAL COMMUNITIES
CAN HELP TO INCREASE THE PENETRATION OF THE INTERNET IN RURAL
AREAS.
• HOWEVER, THE CONTINUOUS SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY IS ONE OF THE
BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN THE WAY OF UPGRADING THESE AREAS DIGITALLY.
SO TO ESTABLISH AN INTERNET CONNECTION IN THESE AREAS WHERE THE
AVAILABILITY OF ELECTRICITY IS SO RANDOM THE LIGHT FIDELITY
TECHNOLOGY CAN COMBINE WITH SOLAR CELLS AS RECEIVER SOLUTIONS
THAT SUPPLY COMMUNICATION ACCESS TO THE RURAL AREAS.
• HENCE, IN THIS WAY, PEOPLE LIVING IN UNDERDEVELOPED AND RURAL
AREAS CAN ENJOY A MYRIAD OF BENEFITS THAT COME ALONG WITH THE HI-
TECH INTERNET TECHNOLOGY.
REAL WORLD
CHALLENGES
1) LI-FI SHOULD NEED LINE OF SIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE DATA
TRANSMISSION. SMALL DIFFERENCE LEADS TO INTERRUPTION
IN
THE TRANSMISSION.
2) RECEIVING DEVICE SHOULD NOT BE REALLOCATED INSIDE
THE
HALL.
3) THE RECEIVING DEVICE DOES NOT AWARE TO TRANSMIT DATA
BACK TO TRANSMITTER.
4) INTERFERENCE COULD BE CAUSED BY EXTERNAL LIGHT
SOURCES
SUCH AS NORMAL BULBS, SUNLIGHT AND OPAQUE OBJECTS
DURING DATA TRANSMISSION. IT LEADS TO DECREASES
RELIABILITY.
5) VLC IS NOT ABLE TO PIERCE VIA BRICK, THICK WALLS LIKE

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
CONCLUSION
• LiFi is a recent technology that uses LED lamps for wire-less
communications. It uses the visible light band instead of the radio
spectrum. Unlike RF systems, where antennas are used for
transmission and receivers, LiFi systems use LED lamps for
transmission and photodetectors in the receivers.

• Since the visible light band is 10,000 times wider than the
radio band, LiFi can provide very high data rate. Also, the
visible light band is unlicensed and free to use. Besides these
two benefits of LiFi technology, it is an energy efficient
system based on lighting, which is available everywhere.
