This document describes a project to develop a real-time protection system for induction motors using an embedded system. The system will detect faults in the motor's power supply like overcurrent, undervoltage, etc. using sensors. It will classify the fault and send a trip signal to disconnect the motor via a relay, preventing damage. The proposed methodology involves sensing voltage and current using transformers connected to a microcontroller. On detecting a fault, it will display the type of fault and trip the motor by cutting off its power supply. The goal is to accurately protect motors from supply faults.

INTRODUCTION Induction motor are used in many application because of simple and robust structure, and low production cost, The reliability of an induction motor is of great importance as failure may cause industrial production losses. It confronts to a damage when it is working, because the faults that may be happen to it. These fault may be overcurrent, unbalanced, overvoltage, under voltage, overheat. We are proposing technique to protect an induction motor by using microcontroller. Whenever there is a variation in supply side, that is sensed by the sensor and signal is sent to the microcontroller which then send the trip signal to the contactor or relay. OBJECTIVES Real time protection of an induction motor from v faults from supply side using a microcontroller and sensors. Block Diagram
METHODOLOGY
Single phase AC supply is given to the relay unit and given to
the motor through driver circuit. The single phase voltage transformer and current transformer is taken from the supply and given to the voltage sensing and current sensing circuit, which will sense the abnormalities in the voltage and current which will be given to microcontroller. Microcontroller will classify the type of fault and will display it on the display and along with that the TRIP signal will be sent to the relay unit and the supply to the motor will cut-off, and message will be sent to the operator that the motor is has Tripped and will also tell the reason of tripping. OUTCOME
To create a system capable of accurately detect supply
faults, classifying the fault, protecting the motor from damage APPLICATION
Fault detection in supply for the Induction motor.
Classification of different types of supply faults.
Protection of the induction motor from supply faults.
Useful to the farmers and domestic users and industries.
