What are animal rights
Animal rights are the belief that animals have a right to
be free of human use and human exploitation.
Importance of animal rights
We have fought for years for human rights , women
rights and things that make human life better, but
animals don’t have that luxury tobe able to stand up
for themselves and protest for their rights.
Types of abuses to animals
1 - Animals in factory farm

2- Animal testing

3- Animals in entertainment

All the male baby chicken are killed as soon as they are hatched because
they are no use to the poultry industry.
Animal testing
Animal activists say that since an animal
cannot give its consent to be tested. The
testing of animals is unethical. Dissecting
animals is also bad.

NOTE
In INDIA the dissecting of frog is Draize test
banned for studying biology This type of experiment is
used to test products used for external
use like eye medicine, makeup , and
other dye these are used on lab
rabbits .
Animals as entertainment
Animals are also been used for
entertainment since ages whether it is
dog race or elephant show or dolphin
show due to this they differ from their
natural habitat and also the crowd has a
negative effect on them.
solution
Three commonly used solutions to animal abuse are --

1 Reduce - The use of animals in labs , testing should be reduced.


2 Replace - In the place of animals some modal or computer
programme should be used.

3 Refine - Some methods of making the process of animal care should


be govern by the legislative bodies.

PETA ( People for the ethical treatment of animals)

ASPCA ( American society for the prevention of


cruelty to animals)

# It is the fundamental duty of every indian citizen to have
compassion for all living creatures ( under Article 51 A )

# To kill or maim any animal including stray animals is a punishable


offence . IPC section 428/429

# Abandoning your animal for any reason can land you in jail for
three months

# Monkeys are protected under wildlife protection act 1972 and


cannot be owned and displayed .
Conclusion
In conclusion we can help save the animals from factory farms , labs
and entertainment purposes by using the principle of REDUCE ,
REPLACE , REFINE and basic human decency.
