INTRODUCTION TO WET CLADDING

 Wet cladding basically used in bath room area, where water is used
mostly all time.
 Hence wet wall cladding is done on bathroom walls, and choose water
proof kind of material , like glass , vitrefied tiles etc.
 In wet cladding, tile / stone were installed over the tile adhesive which is
applied on the surfaces like, RCC, CC, plywood, gypsum boards, fibre
cement boards, etc. Where as in dry cladding, tile / stone were installed
over the steel frame work which is fixed to RCC / cement plaster.r
INCLUDING TOILET CLADDING

 Water resistant: Wall and ceiling cladding is very popular in the bathroom and
kitchen areas as they are water-repellent and mould resistant, but they can be
used pretty much anywhere.
 Most of the time, cladding is also more cost effective if you compare the price
per square meter to tiles.
 Tiles are ideal for damp rooms and are still the most convenient material used
for bathroom cladding these days. They are durable and waterproof and keep
the bathroom hygienic even with occasional cleaning. Today, a large choice of
tiles from different sizes and colours exist

 A wet wall, hydro panel, or shower wall, is a large panel that will fully
waterproof the wall area around your shower, bath, sink or any area that you
would ordinarily tile.
Advantages

Mechanical cladding usually use stainless steel fixing clips and steel frames as the installation system
and sealed the stone joints with weatherproof Silicone sealant. The whole system has some kind of
elasticity, which can eliminate the influence of expansion and contraction caused by temperature or
displacement of the main structure.
The installation of mechanical cladding can be more convenient and fast. Without the grouting
process, the construction period can be shortened. Further maintenance like changing certain pieces
can be easier. Also it is less restricted by weather factors compared to wet cladding.
 Avoid the possible contamination of the stone by the pigment in the mortar.
Disadvantages

The later expansion is not possible due

to the edge to edge bonding.
Improper bond between the wall and the
adhesive or the mortar can make the
stone to fall off.
 The cladding stone may absorb
water from the mortar.
