INNOVATION IN
PAINT

Introduction

• Paint was one of the earliest inventions of humanity. Some

cave paintings drawn with red or yellow ochre, hematite, manganese
oxide, and charcoal may have been made by early Homo sapiens as
long as 40,000 years ago. Paint may be even older.
Properties of Good Paint

• It should give a thin and uniform coating.

• It should give a thin and uniform coating.

• The painted surface should not crack on drying.

• It should be resistant to weathering and corrosive action.

• It should be water repellant.

• It should have good spread.

• It should have good adhesive power. It should give a good finish with attractive colour, design and appearance.

• The color should be fast and permanent.

Nanotechnology

• Keep in mind that foul odors can be difficult to remove. ... Odor absorbing paint works by both
covering and absorbing the odor, creating a fresher air quality.

Cement Paint

• Cement based paints contains cement as the base material.

• This paint contain cement, accelerator, pigment and other additives.

• They are available in powder form.

• By mixing water to this powder and stirred to the required cosistency

the paint is obtained.

• Cement based paint is water proof and can be applied in internal and
external surfaces
Bio functional Paints

• Due to the trend of using less harmful to the environment chemicals mentioned above, bio-based chemicals
have been used instead of petroleum-derived chemicals such as epoxy, polyurethane, paint / coating
technologies used in their formulations.

• For example, in water-based polyurethane technologies being developed, bio-based conjugate chemicals are
used in place of petroleum-derived polyols in their formulations.

• Reduction in GHG emissions, low or free VOC, shortage of petrochemical-derived raw materials, etc. are
some of the pressing factors driving the market growth of bio-based coatings
Odour eliminating paint

• Once you've cleaned any area in your home that may be causing the
odor, it's time to let the paint do its job.

• Keep in mind that foul odors can be difficult to remove. ... Odor
absorbing paint works by both covering and absorbing the odor,
creating a fresher air quality.
Conducting Paints
• What if you could draw a paint switch in the wall it is possible with this electric
conducting paints.

• Inside the paint there are lots of small molecules of carbon when the paint dries the
molecules get closer.

• It can be used on any surface.

• The paint acts as a sensor for the device and can be activated on touch.

• And the by product is creative interactive light walls, music walls, tables,  etc.
