Omicron: Why does it spread so fast?

• Early studies suggested that the extremely hight transmissibility of

the omicron variant was probably due to the higher viral load.
• However, a new study has found that the viral load is nearly the
same for the omicron and delta variants.
• Latest studies show that, the high rate at which the Omicron is
spreading might be due to the inherent immune capabilities than
the high viral load.
A blinking star

• Scientist from west Australia have discovered a blinking star with

totally different behaviour.
• The neutron star emittes strong radio waves every 18 minutes and
11 seconds for 30 seconds.
• The star is roughly 4000 light year away. 1 light year = 9.5 trillion
Kilometres. It is approximately 12 Km is diameter.
• It rotates very slowly, it could be because of its old age.
Asteroids

• NASA recently discovered another gigantic asteroid that’s more than twice
the height of the Empire State Building.
• According to NASA, Asteroid will shoot past Earth in early March, 2022.
According to NASA, the 'potentially hazardous' space rock is up to 4,265
feet wide.
• While it will be close to Earth, it will safely pass from an estimated distance
of 3 million miles away.
• An asteroid of this size could do some really serious damage but the big
relief is it's not expected to hit Earth.
• As NASA said, the giant asteroid is likely to shoot past us on March 4.
Sports: U-19 world cup

• Good news, India has reached the semi-finals of the world cup and
will face Australia.
• Australia beat Pakistan to reach the semi-finals.
• Some of the Indian players were hit by the corona virus and have
recovered successfully.
• In the quarter-finals, India beat Bangladesh by five wickets while
chasing a miniscule target of 112.
