DEFINITION INJURY
▪  An injury is damage to your body. It is a general term that refers to harm
caused by accidents, falls, hits, weapons, and more.

Sports Injury -
Injury during a sport activity or during exercise.

COMMON SPORTS INJURIES
SPRAIN
• A sprain is an injury to a ligament and is often caused by a
wrench or twist.

• Sprains often affect the ankles, knees, or wrists.

• The treatment for a sprain includes Rest, Ice, Compression,


and Elevation (R.I.C.E.). If the ligament is torn, surgical repair
may be necessary.
STRAIN
• A strain is an injury to a muscle or tendon,
• It is caused by overuse, force, or stretching.
• The treatment for a strain is Rest, Ice, Compression,
and Elevation (R.I.C.E).
• If a tear in the muscle occurs, surgical repair may be
necessary. 
TENDONITIS
TENDONITIS
▪ Tendonitis: inflammation of a tendon.

▪ Tendons are strong and can usually take whatever we do to them but occasionally they can become
swollen because of overexertion, disease, or injuries.

▪ Pain and stiffness of the tendon and the area

▪ Pain can worsen during and after activity involving the tendon. The area can become stiffer the following
day and a general loss of motion at the joint may occur.

▪ Tendonitis usually occurs at the elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, heel and wrist, but can occur anywhere there
is a tendon.
