INTRODUCTION
 In line with UNESCO's missions to provide education for all and sustainable education, Malaysia has created another dimension in national
education by establishing an Sekolah Dalam Hospital (SDH), aimed to ensure that regardless of circumstances, educational services are
accessible to all students whom receiving treatment in hospital ward. Establishment of SDH is a collaboration between the Ministry of
Education Malaysia (MOE), Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) to provide education to
students in hospitals who are ready to learn.
 According to the "Education for All (EFA)" principle outlined by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO), every child, adolescent and adult should be provided with basic education. One of the six (6) internationally recognized educational
goals are, "Ensuring that by 2015 all children, particularly girls, children in difficult circumstances and those belonging to ethnic minorities,
have access to, and complete, free and compulsory primary education of good quality ".
 Learning session at school in hospital is a fun and flexible learning approach in a conducive environment. It is indirectly a therapy that can help
the process of recovery of the health problem that the student is suffering from. Thus, in order to encourage school in hospital teachers to
implement more creative and innovative teaching and learning (PdPc), a more effective numerical reasoning strategy should be produced, at the
same time this will allow students to know their respective levels of numeracy. This thinking strategy emphasizes multi-grade learning and
teacher-led instruction as a facilitator. Learning is oriented towards self-directed learning, self-accessed learning, self-paced learning and self-
assessed learning. In line with this, to achieve the aspirations of the Malaysian Education Plan 2013-2025 through the first shift by providing
equal access to international quality education also supported UNESCO's goals. Malaysia has taken various initiatives to expand access and
equity of education as well as improve the quality of education, in line with the Minister of Education speeh in UNESCO Malaysia Day 2013;
"Through the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025, I will ensure that quality education is provided to all students
regardless of grade and background. "
 in Malaysia there are 15 SDHs
INTRODUCTION
 FunMaths is a Model of Numeracy Understanding comprehension level which is an advancement made in accordance with the
educational modules in Malaysia. This model is one of the “ thinking strategies” branches in creating understudies and in
accordance with the usage of School-Based Assessment (PBS) that has been implemented now in all primary and secondary
schools.
 funMaths to create a new perspective of Mathematics subject as well as provide a conducive and attractive learning environment.
 is used to determine the level of students’ numeracy understanding based on the results obtained for each question.
 to identify the numeracy level of each pupil.
 There are four stages to achieve numeracy understanding:- de-coding, meaning-making, application and analysis.
 This innovation (e-Numeracy and LoVMaths Apps) was invented based on Numeracy Level of Understanding Module (Siti
Rahaimah & Noraini, 2013).
 e-Numeracy and LoVMaths Apps are application to solve primary mathematics
 This application contains the solution stages to determine the students' level of understanding in answering the questions.
 This app was adapted from the numeracy understanding level model ( which won the gold IIID 2019,gold of Itex 2016, silver
PECIPTA 2014 and silver at K-Innovation 2019).
 This apps is created to attract students to enjoy their learning apart from they can answer the questions in or outside the
classroom.
 Fun Learning with Numeracy Module is a third innovation from this model LoVMaths.
 This module was developed based on the experience of conducting numeracy camps in a few
schools Sekolah Dalam Hospital at Hospital PPUM Kuala Lumpur. This module additionally
emphasizes the activities of numerically adjusted ways to deal with ‘fun learning’ during the
implementation process which accentuates on cooperative methodologies. This strategy is to
promote adaptation of students frequency as well as on the focus of many students
engagement during this activity.
 This module utilizes the “Fun Learning” approach in numeracy application. The exercises are
adapted from the Numeracy Understanding Model (MPKN).
 MPKN plays an important role to decide the level of understanding of numeracy for each
student (Siti Rahaimah and Noraini, 2014). Through this MPKN approach developed through
the form of organized games in order to attract students to learn the general mathematics in
“fun learning”. This module can be used during school activities, in the motivational camp or
where it can be run so that learning is fun.
PART OF THE MODULE
UNIQUENESS OF FUNMATHS
 The uniqueness of funMaths is that it can assists in deciding the level of understanding of the
numeracy of every understudy in which each level contains its own qualities to encourage to
know their individual level of comprehension of numeracy.
 All innovation based on FunMaths. This module utilizes the “Fun Learning” approach in
numeracy application. The exercises are adapted from the FunMaths. The model has won Gold
honor in ITEX 2016 , DIIID 2019, Seoul International Invention Fair (SIFF) 2016, the 2014
MTE advancement Silver honor, the PECIPTA 2014 Bronze development and a few national
and global development rivalries.
NOVELTY AND
INVENTIVENESS
 4 stages contain the specific characteristics:
 Stages 1 : De-coding
 Stages 2 : Meaning making
 Stages 3 : Using
 Stages 4 : Analysing

 The activity can be conducted in group or individually

 Facilitate the teachers to know the students level of numeracy understanding because it has it
own characteristics in every stages.
 The uniqueness of MPKN is that it can assists in deciding the level of understanding of the
numeracy of every under study in which each level contains its own qualities to encourage to
know their individual level of comprehension of numeracy.
MODEL OF UNDERSTANDING NUMERACY LEVEL
CHARACTERISTIC
USEFULNESS AND APPLICATION
 Why the model is created?

 To provide the effective tools that can be used by student in carrying out interesting, meaningful and effective
teaching and learning activities base on the 21st century learning skills.
 These tools offer an alternative to assist teachers. Teachers are reported to have insufficient time to create their own
teaching tools.
 It is a mobile application to create a new perspective of basic calculus subject as well as provide a conducive and
attractive learning environment
 It is used to determine the level of students’ numeracy understanding based on the results obtained for each question.
 It is to identify the basic calculuslevel of each pupil. A systematic process ; uploading of questionnaires into the
mobile application and answer each question using their own mobile device in order to surpass the first stage. The
same process applies until they reached the last stage which is stage four
 Enable students to learn numeracy anywhere not only in the classroom setting.

 There are four stages to achieve numeracy understanding:- de-coding, meaning-making, application and analysis.
 This innovation was invented based on Numeracy Level of Understanding Module (Siti Rahaimah & Noraini, 2013)
STATUS OF INVENTION /
INNOVATION
 Researchers have created various innovations for the commemorative work and contribution
in the field education and for being selected as the Educator of the year in the International
Education Awards 2018, Distinguished Scientist in Mathematics Education-VIRA 2019 and
International, invention & Design Leader in Mathematic Education Award 2020
 In light of the numerical Model of Understanding which has earned the Gold Medal in ITEX
(2016), Silver on MTE(2013), Bronze at Seoul International Festival Fair (2016), PECIPTA
2014 Bronze and some different honors, the publisher has made a few modules of numeracy
perception modules, for example, the Junior High School Understanding module, primary
school textbook, making and “fun learning with numeracy” camp module.
MARKET AND COMMERCIAL
POTENTIAL
 Requirements of the Ministry of Education:

 In 2012. The Ministry of Education aims to reach 60% of students in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM), but still unreachable. This situation occurs because students are not
clear with the vision itself. In fact, the government is a necessity for achievement in the flow of math
students, the Understanding Numbers level has been introduced to assist teachers as well. In the next
stage, a good concept understanding can help students learn "how to apply in killing and knowing"
why and when "the skills can be used.
 It is hoped that Malaysian children will continue to move forward in line with SDG 2030
(Sustainable Development Objectives Education Equity and Quality).
 Like the Ex Minister of Education YB Dr. Maszlee, education does not have a good borderline of
ordinary stream students, special needs or natural persons.
 Hopefully every morning pupils in Malaysia are eager to go to school .. when asked why, he said
School was fun and teachers treated me well every day.
ENVIRONMENTAL
FRIENDLLINESS
 Based on the model of the stage of the numeracy understanding it will be able to identify the
extent to which each student’s numeracy level. The model can help the government, especially
the Ministry of Education so that an evaluation process, especially in the field of literacy and
numeracy can be realized in line with the competency level thinking of the next generation.

 The researcher see momentum instructive changes to the time of globalization and learning
without limits, so the researcher came up one application using a cell phone called e-Numeracy.
This innovation won Gold honor for instructing and learning at the Eastern Zone Teacher
Education Institution level in 2016. The e-Numeracy application made by this researcher is
utilized as a part of learning as per the most recent discovering that is towards the 21st century.
The primary concern to take gander at is from parts of evaluating and understanding the
numeracy of student numeracy comprehension. This model demonstrate the utilization of the
implicit e-Numeracy programming and students can learn beyond the classroom.
