Introduction

 TVET Colleges generates thousands of student related documents

every year. Its increasing in a great number every time until its
hard to manage and maintain those student related documents.
 Document redundancy and unable to maintain the generated
report is a great problem in every TVET College that need
Government attention to eradicate through the use of Web-based
Application like OSMS.
 The implementation of Offline Student Management System in
every TVET College will surely help large number of precious
documents to be managed and maintained securely.
Problems associated with the
Current system
 Finding a specific student result/profile near impossible or time
consuming if the record is couple of years old.
 Generating a record requires to manually count for a data.
 Issuing a tempo currently is a headache because the person who
creates the tempo must write every students name, sex and other
parameters on the tempo file one by one for each students.
 students record is not secure.
Objective’s of OSMS

 To generate accurate reports.

 To easily maintain record error’s.
 To securely store student records from unwanted
accesses.
Benefits of OSMS

 It will decrease the time that takes to find a specific

student file.
 It will reduce data redundancy.
 It will reduce paper and printer ink usage because every
record is stored in a digital form.
 It will create a job for IT technicians.
 System log, it stores activities of OSMS users.
What Can OSMS do?

 Can generate specific and general report

 Export students list in doc file
 Export Registration form for each registered student
 Export attendace
 View OSMS Users activity from admin panel
 Register new students,dept,program and competency
Technical feasibility
 I calculated the technical feasibility with the assumption
of 300 students to be registered at once.
things used for registering 300 Total price
students

300 registration form 300*0.5cent=150birr

Printer ink Approximately 200birr printer ink

pen 2 *10birr=20birr

Folder(dosi) for each student 300*5birr = 1500birr

Educational documents(>5pages) 5*3birr=15birr(for copy)

Total price 1885birr

So according to my calculation it
takes 1,885Birr approximately to
register 300 students but if we use
OSMS it takes 0Birr to register
students into the database.
