society, is any community whose
economy is based on producing and
maintaining crops and farmland. Such a
society may acknowledge other means of
livelihood and work habits but stresses
the importance of agriculture and farming.
Industrial Society

It is a society driven by the use of


technology and machinery to enable
mass production, supporting a large
population with a high capacity for
division of labour. Industrial societies
use external energy sources, such as
fossil fuels, to increase the rate and
scale of production.

The post-industrial society is the stage


of society's development when the
service sector generates more wealth
than the manufacturing sector of the
economy.

The society marked by a transition from a


manufacturing-based economy to a service-
based economy, a transition that is also
connected.

Since post-industrial societies focus on


services and not manufacturing goods, it
follows that manufacturing has to occur
