INTRODUCTION

• AMUL is a famous brand when it comes to dairy products. On manufacturing level it


operates under the name of VASUDHARA DAIRY.
• Located all over India, all production is distributed & marketed through Gujarat Co-
operative Milk & Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
• The manufacturing unit located in Nagpur comprises of making of milk, standardized
flavored milk (SFM) and icecream.
• Brand slogan- “The taste of India”

MILK

Milk manufacturing in Vasudhara dairy begins with raw milk processed into final pouched
milk in Vasudhara dairy. Milk pouches of 200 ml, 500 ml, 1lit, 2 lit and 5 lit are used as a
packaging material in pouching section. Three types of milk manufactured are-

STANDARDIZED FLAVOURED MILK (SFM)

Standardized flavoured milk (SFM) is manufactured under the brand name of AMUL KOOL.
Depending on the various flavours manufactured, the SFM is made in a mixing tank comprising of the
following materials:
• MILK
• WATER
• SMP (Skimmed milk powder)
• COLOUR
• FLAVOUR
• SUGAR
• TSC (Tri sodium citrate)

standardized flavored milk (SFM) is given :

The constituents of SFM are as given below.


Constituents Percentage

Fat 3.1-3.5 %

SNF 9.1-9.6 %

Sugar 8 %

Total Solids 20-22 %

pH 6.4
OTHER PROCESSES IN THE FACTORY

• Some other processes worth including that take part on daily basis are as follows
1. Lab processes (adulterations, tss, moisture content, shelf life, pH tests etc.)
