 INTRODUCTION

 In times of modernization, technology has a great impact to the world. One is

the internet. Electronic commerce (e-commerce) is one of the methods that
businesses mostly used to communicate and interact with clients or customers.
With the rapid global growth of electronic commerce (e-commerce) businesses
attempting to gain a competitive advantage by using e-commerce to interact
with customers.
INTRODUCTION

 The growing and diverse netizens in Ilocos Sur means that people
having diverse tastes,interests and choices are now searching the web for
information about the product and also to buy products and services. The
goal of our system is to promote local products or OTOP(One Town One
Product) of Ilocos Sur. This will help potential buyer of Ilocos Sur to
inquire or gather information about the products.
INTRODUCTION

 It will further avoid the hassle of visiting shops or stores personally and to
save time and money in commuting. This can also avoid personal contact
with others especially now that we are facing a pandemic.

Significance of the Study

 The study aimed to design and develop Tiendaan de

Ylocandia a web-based application that helps user to buy and
sell local products online. It further promotes OTOP products
of Ilocos Sur online.
The following are the stakeholder who will be benefited from
the implementation of Tiendaan de Ylocandia:
Iloco Sellers. This web-based application help Iloco sellers
to sell their product through online.
Significance of the Study

Buyers. This web-based application help those people in lockdown

to reach Iloco products and to help those people unable to reach the
seller store just buy OTOP products.
Society. This web-based application will know the OTOP products
of Ilocos Sur. It will help them to buy and quality and safe products of
Iloco.
Municipality. This website helps every municipality in Ilocos Sur
to promote their own local products.
Significance of the Study

Researchers. The researchers further developed their skills in

programming and research writing. It broadens their knowledge about the
different to promote Iloco Product
Future Researchers. Future researchers may opt to use this research as a
reference in conducting new research similar topic. It can also be used in
creating or improving the Tiendaan de Ylocandia web-based application .
Scope and Delimitation

The Tiendaan de Ylocandia is mainly focused on selling and buying

Iloco products. This study will be conducted within Metro Vigan and its
nearby municipality. The researcher aims to promote the One Town, One
Product of Ilocos Sur. It only includes product that produces by Iloco
such as Abel Iloco, Vigan longanisa, Bagnet, Sukang Iloco and many
more products from different municipalities of Ilocos Sur.
Scope and Delimitation

 The user can view the rating of the products, comments and recommendations
and it also allows the seller to input product to sell. The study is limited only
to the municipalities of Ilocos Sur. However, it does not cover other products
and functions. The study is only limited to payment option such as Cash on
Delivery (COD). It does not cover other payment methods, such as credit
card. Furthermore, the web-based application support the monitoring of the
transaction COD Reports of the product and the Inventory of Products.
Methodology

The researchers used the Spiral methodology in the development of the

proposed system because it supports risk handling, wherein the risks are entirely
identified before the start of the development work of the project. This model is
much more flexible compared to other System Development Life Cycle (SDLC
models). The spiral model is a systems development lifecycle (SDLC) method
used for risk management that combines the iterative development process
model with elements of the waterfall model.
 Methodology

The spiral model was used by software engineers and favored for large,
expensive, and complicated projects (Rouse, 2020).

The researchers chose Spiral methodology because the model is more flexible
compared to other methods. The spiral method is also used for risk
management, wherein the risks are entirely identified before the start of the
development work of the project.
