Definition of Rotary Drum
Filter

A rotary filter is one type of filter that is operated continuously. Like

other filtration tools, this tool has a filter medium and support as the
main component, only the support is in the form of a cylinder and the
filter medium surrounds it. The cylindrical shape resulted in this tool
being given the name drum. During operation, the drum rotates slowly,
hence the name rotary. Often this tool is referred to as a rotary vacuum
filter because the pressure condition in the drum is a vacuum.

Rotary drum vacuum filters (RDVF) are widely used in chemical plant
operations. This filter is very efficient and capable of producing solid
catch and high cake output.
