Tools for Photo Editing

These are the tools that will help us to manipulate photos in many ways:
 Blur / Sharpen / Smudge
 Dodge / Burn / Sponge
 Clone Stamp
 Healing / Spot Healing
 Patch / Red Eye
 Content Aware
 Levels / Curves
Blur, Sharpen, and Smudge

 Blur and Sharpen are “focus” tools  Smudge Tool: Imagine dragging your finger

Clone Stamp Tool

Spot Healing and Healing

 Similar to the healing tool, it clones or copies pixels and attempts to match the
texture. Except a large selection area is used.  Fix red eye cause by

 Drag the tool around the area you want to patch over.
 Select the tool and click
 With your cursor inside that selection, move it to an area you want to copy pixels the red eye.

Content-Aware Move Tool

 This is a quick tool that allows you to reposition image


content from one area of an image to another. (pretty
much it’s super cool!)
 First, make a selection around the area you want to relocate
 Select the content-aware tool, click inside the selection and
move to where you want to reposition.
 Photoshop does all the work! It analyzes the pixels and the
new background content to blend the moved pixels!
 Ctrl + D to deselect the marching ants.
