+ THEME: War is a curse to humanity
+ Theme is the writer's opinion about the
subject.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF POETRY
+ TONE
–The attitude of the writer towards his subject
–We can figure out the tone by the author’s word choice, punctuation, sentence
structure and figures of speech. The manner in which the writer approaches his theme
and subject.
+ EXAMPLES OF TONE:
•Ironic, Sad, Bitter, Humorous, Apologetic, Proud, Lively, Serious etc.
