To think about myself

and other people by thinking
about names
We are all different, have
individual personalities, things
that we prefer (and don’t)- all
of this is important as all these
things help in making everyone
unique.

Let’s explore how names are part of all of
our identity and sometimes tell stories.
The name that each of us has forms a part of
each of our identities and who we are. Names
are used to identify people and can have a
story or a meaning attached to them. No one
would know this information just from looking
at us.
Meet Grace and a
George. The name Grace
comes from the Latin
word ‘gratia’, meaning
God’s favour. George is
a Greek name, meaning
one who works the
earth; a farmer.

Meet Ken and Keisha.
The name Ken has
more than one
meaning, one of the
meanings is ‘handsome
man’. The name Keisha
is an American baby
name and it means
great joy.

Meet Rayya and Ruby.
Rayya is an Arabic

longer thirsty’. The
name Ruby comes
from the name of a
precious stone, which
is the birthstone of
July.

want to share that people call you
