be shared with you
all on SMHW,
including useful
revision resources.
Advance
information from
AQA on the RS GCSE
Exam Summer 2022
What is the information?
What is the information?
Impact?
1. AQA can only ask questions in the Religions: Beliefs &
Teachings and Practices paper on topics highlighted in
yellow.
2. However AQA have made it crystal clear that students
should have knowledge from across the course in order
to access the full range of marks.
• For example, if a 12 mark question within Islam: Beliefs and Teachings is
‘In order to be a Muslim you only need to know the Qur’an’ a student
would not be discredited if they include content on Predestination or
Life After Death.
Second Mock Exam
When?
• Wednesday 20th April period 1
What?
• 2x PPQs in one hour
• First PPQ:
• Christianity: Practices
• Islam: Beliefs and Teachings
• Second PPQ:
• Theme: Relationships and Families
• Theme: The Existence of God and Revelation
What can I do now?
• Test yourself on Key Terms/quotations.
• For each topic ensure you have arguments for and against 12 mark style questions:
• Christianity: Why is the resurrection the most important concept within Christianity?
• Christianity Practices: Why is Easter a more important festival than Christmas for Christians?
• Islam: Why are the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH the best way a Muslim can learn about their faith?
• Religion, Peace and Conflict: Why is pacifism the correct response to conflict?
• Religion and Life: Why is euthanasia seen as unethical?
• Relationship and Families: Why is marriage out-dated within the 21 st century?
• Know at least three different case studies/subject specific examples for each topic.
• Revise over question structures.
• Look thoroughly over teacher feedback, including that of your Autumn Exam and Spring Exam - what were
you doing right and where were you going wrong?
• Ensure you have revision ready notes.
• Revision PowerPoints can be found on the shared area.
• Practise PPQs and then self-mark – found on the AQA website and on the shared area.

The more readily you can call key information to mind then the less timing will be an issue.

What is the examiner looking for?
• In-depth subject knowledge
• Clear answer structure, including PEEL where required
• Justified conclusion
• SPaG
