The structure of the organisation:
Warner bros Warner Media is a multinational entertainment corporation and mass media

conglomerate. The company itself operates TV and cable operations and
entertainment assets of tuner broadcasting, HBO and so on. When AT& T
completed their purchase of time warner before they become different the top
focus was the reconstruction of its three businesses HBO, tuner and warner
bros to operate and run as one division. The idea was to be able to compete
with top competitors like for example Walt Disney.
 There are over 80 top employers at Warner media and over the past years have
experienced big reorganisations and now the top worker at the studio is the
Jason kilar. The CEO overseas all the operations and ensure everything is flowing
smoothly and without any problems. The best structure to follow when it comes
to the Warner Media would be the functional structure as each employer is
suited to the positions based on their skills on either the field of during editing

The structure of the organisation:
Channel 4 Channel 4 is a statutory corporation, independent from

government and governed by a board of executive and
non executive directors that are responsible for ensuring
that channel 4 fulfils and delivers financial
responsibilities.
 The non executive directors are hired and thoroughly
studied by Ofcom whilst being in agreement with the
SSFCM&S ( secretary of state for culture, media and
sport). Channel 4 doesn’t provide public service even
though they are independent from the government they
instead serve as commissioners for over 200 companies
and this means the structure of their organisation must
centre around ensuring the smooth commissions of their
partners.
 Whilst non executive directors are hired by OFCOM the
chief executive is appointed by the board members and
other executive members are hired after nomination of
the chief director and chair together.
 Currently the chair to channel 4’s structure is Sir Ian
Chesire and the chief executive is Alex Mahon.
 Warner Brothers is a private company that has been in
the industry for almost 99 years. Being a private
company means they come with many advantages and
disadvantages that can either benefit the company or
decrease results, either way the biggest relief when
running a private company is that they don’t have to

 Channel 4 are a public owned, non profit corporation that
does not have any shareholders. Public companies are
traded on the stock exchange which means stocks and
bonds can be sold on the public market and that means
funds can be raised grow. Companies that are public are
mostly traded on stock exchange and this means that
stocks and bonds can be sold on the public market, funds
can be raised to fund growth.

 The Warner Brothers Company is part of a conglomerate. This is because not
only do they own various other filming studios such as Warner Bro. Pictures,
New line Cinema, The Warner Animation Group, Castle Rock Entertainment
and even DC films they also own multiple theme parks, Tv studios and even
game development. They also operate various station that specialise in
publishing, merchandising, music and even theatre which include
shops/stores such as the Warner Brothers Music Store and Theatres Ventures.
Are they part of a larger conglomerate:
Channel 4
 Channel 4 is not part of a conglomerate as it
is a publisher broadcaster. This means that it
doesn’t produce any of its own programmes
but instead commissions them for more than
300 independent production companies
across the UK. It also means that channel 4 is
dependent on the production companies they
commissions as without them the platform
would function without use.
What media products
does Warner Brothers
make?
 The Warner Brothers company
specialises in making multiple
different television, film and
even game products. This also
includes commonly known brands
such as DC game of throne,
looney tunes, the flintstones,
scooby-doo and even the
wizarding world which are all
very popular with children of
different ages. They also have
other brands Boomerang, HBO,
Cartoon Network as well as
Cinemax. These brands all make
up the Warner brother media.
What media products
does Channel 4 make?

 Channel 4 is a publicly owned


establishment and therefore is
doesn’t make any media products
only distributes them as
commissioned by other company
producers. The company
distribute films like Blade
Runner: black lotus, Star Wars,
Daphne, Sea Fever and many
more both adult and child
suggestions like for example, The
Snowman. Television series that
companies have also produced
include titles like Batwoman,
Charmed, Ackley Bridge, The
Vampire Diaries etc.

and other revenue such as

sales of up to $1.6 billion.

programming budget of just
about £660 million a year before
the pandemic crisis changed up

series such as the great British

which is about half the level of
commercial peers across Europe.

 Warner Brothers is a multinational media entertainment company and
naturally they have a few competitors which include companies such as
Lucasfilm, MGM, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Cineworld Group.  These
groups are some of the few competitors that go against warner brother's
others also included Disney, Paramount and even HBO.

Channel 4 
 Although channel 4 is smaller than Warner Brothers it still riles up a lot of
competition. These include the Spanish Broadcasting System, Woohoo
channel, PULS 4 channel and MTV. This list presented are four of the top
companies that compete together with channel 4 for the most used channels.

their revenue from?

from the company's theatrical
product. AT and T acquired Time
Warner in June and assigned
warner Brothers, Home Box Office
(HBO) and turner to their new
segment.  Warner Brothers tv

in the same branch of production and
distribution.
 Warner Bros used its international cinema
chain to show films to a worldwide
audience. The
studio focuses on worldwide growth of the
cinema growth to promote the success
and future of Warner Brothers
production. 
 Warner's brothers have their own
distribution line ' warner distribution' and
is one of the largest distributors of feature
films, tv series and even animation, they
distribute around 18-22 films each
year and release them to over 120
different countries. 
Are they vertically or horizontally
integrated? Channel 4 
 Horizontal integration is
when a media company has
ownership of several building
of the same value. Almost all
companies have horizontal
integration. 
 Channel 4 is commercially
funded broadcasting company
and therefore get majority of
their income from
external advertising and
productions. They invest a lot
of money towards other
production companies that fit
certain standards as it shows
their independence and
originality than
other companies such as ITV
and BBC.
