Friendly Tech ACS

ACS operational flow:

• 1. The provisioning data entered

by coordinator will be stored in CRM.

• 2. CRM will send these parameters to

ACS and will be stored in ACS database.

• 3. When CPE is connected at customer

premise, it will send an inform request to

ACS and the related parameters will be
sent to CPE from ACS database.
Friendly Tech ACS

• ACS or auto configuration server is used to remotely provision and

troubleshoot customer premise equipment.
• Currently we are using friendly tech ACS solution.

• ACS provides us the flexibility to perform customizations related to

wireless router without accessing it in real time.
• We have also provided the feature to CC team to resolve SSID and Key-
phrase related complaints using THD tool.
• SSID and Key-phrase can also be changed by customer through SMS
Friendly Tech ACS

• Troubleshooting:

SSID and Key-phrase change

Changing Encryption

Searching device based on serial, username, account number and IP

address

Device reset from ACS

Reboot from ACS

firmware upgrade from ACS

WIFI routers

• In general, WIFI routers can be configured by accessing using Local LAN IP or

WAN IP
• Most of the non-ACT routers cannot be accessed using WAN IP ,so we need
customer support for configuration or troubleshooting.
• Following are the ACT provided wireless routers that are on currently on field.

T&W RTL8196C

Radinet Gw410
Volktek 2240
Volktek 2340

Dlink DIR 615(T2)

Volktek 2342
• All these routers can be provisioned and managed from ACS.
WIFI routers

• Common Issues with WIFI routers:

Wireless frequent disconnection

Hacking router using an APP.

Specific devices cannot be connected to WIFI

Device not responding to ACS

Slow wireless speeds

Limited WIFI network reach.

• To resolve issues in Non-ACT routers ,manuals can be downloaded from
the following website.

Wireless Frequent Disconnection &
security enhancement.

• Wireless frequent disconnection is mostly observed in routers

because of its failure to forward DNS queries to their domain DNS
server.
• To resolve this issue, T&W router needs to be upgraded with latest
firmware(version 09)
• Latest firmware also includes a fix for WPS-bug which prevents
hacking of the router using mobile application(AndroDumper).
Specific client connectivity issue

• There are certain mobile phones and laptops that are unable to
connect to WIFI network
• The reason is that these device only support TKIP encryption and
most of the WIFI router are configured in AES encryption by default.
• This issue can be resolved by configuring WPA/WPA2 or WPA-Mixed
authentication mode which supports both TKIP and AES.
Device not responding to ACS

• If the Tr069 URL or credentials are changed manually ,device will

not respond to ACS.
• In this case make sure that the TR069 configuration is as follows.

URL: http://acs.actcorp.in:8080/dps/TR069

Username: tr069

Pass: tr069

Connection request user name: tr-069

Connection request password: tr-069

Slow wireless speed and limited
network reach

• Following are the checks to be while troubleshooting slow wireless

speed.

Check FUP status of the customer.

Check if the router is capable of supporting customer’s package

(Currently all ACT routers can support up to 50 Mbps only)

Check for the interference

• Routers should not be placed near radio & magnetic appliances such
as T.V, Speakers, Gaming consoles, Micro waves and heavy metal
appliances.
• Make sure that the router is placed in a central location for
maximum network reach.
