tumors
Dr. Faiza Azam
What is connective tissue
• Tissue that connects, supports, binds, or separates other tissues or
organs, typically having relatively few cells embedded in an
amorphous matrix, often with collagen or other fibres, and including
cartilaginous, fatty, and elastic tissues.

• There are six major types of connective tissue, including loose

connective tissue, dense connective
tissue, bone, cartilage, blood and lymph
Types of connective tissue
Benign soft tissue/ Connective tissue
tumors
• Amongst the most common tumors which can be classified as benign
soft tissue tumors are lipoma, angiolipoma, fibroma, benign fibrous
histiocytoma, neurofibroma, schwannoma, neurilemmona,
hemangioma, giant cell tumor of tendon sheath, and myxoma.
