ABSTRACT

Water is the basic need for the existence of life on earth. In spite of 70%
water on earth majority of water is not suitable for drinking purpose.
There is a huge demand of clean water as it is used for a variety of
purpose such as drinking, bathing, cleaning, cooking etc. Impurities
present in water can cause serious health issues that can damage the life
of human beings. The chief function of the automatic drainage system is
to collect, transport, as well as dispose the solid waste in the waste bucket
by the help of claws. Solid waste in drainage water includes empty
bottles, polythene bags, papers etc. Impurities in drainage water can lead
to blockage of the drainage system. In order to avoid such situation these
impurities are needed to be taken out time to time for the continuous flow
of drainage water. Drain can be cleaned continuously by the help of
model using the drive system to remove the solid waste and threw it into
waste bucket. This project is designed with the objective to initiate the
efficient working of system. This project automatically cleans the water
in the drainage system each time any impurity appears, and claws which
are driven by chain sprocket grasp the solid waste and threw it into the
waste bucket to avoid blockage. It even reduces the cost of manual labor
as well as reduces the threat to human life.
Advantages

1. Minimal effort deplete off arrangement if depletes as of now exist.

2. Development materials are regularly locally accessible
3. Makes work (development and support)
4. It is Portable
5. These cleaners are easy cheapest way to fix drainage problems. Easy
to operate as no special skill is required.
6.Reduction of labour oriented method of cleaning, thus upgrading
dignity of labour.
7.Light weight and easily portable. Requires nearly 12-24 volts of
power.
8. Large amount of garbage will collect which can be recycled.

Finalizing Mechanisms
Step 1: Make a list of required hardware outputs
Step 2: Examine the mechanism architecture
Step 3: Select the architecture
Step 4: Identify Motion Needs
Step 5: Start searching for mechanisms & Parts
Step 6: Examine Costs and Power Constraints. ...
Step 7: Check part availability
Step 8: Calculate Sizes
Step 9: Fabricate parts

Project Design
Mechanical Design or Machine Design is one of the important
branches of Engineering Design. To understand what exactly machine
design or mechanical design is let us consider the example of the
gear box of the car. The gear box transmits the motion and the
power of the engine to the wheels of the vehicle. The gearbox
comprises group of gears which are subjected to not only motion but
also the load of the vehicle. For the gears to run at desired speeds
and take desired loads it is important that they should be designed.
Parts Procurement

Once the design is complete parts are to be procured so that

project development may proceed

Mechanical parts can be procured from local stores or online through other stores
Parts Fabrication

It is a value added process that involves the creation of machines, parts, and
structures from various raw materials. A fabrication shop will bid on a job,
usually based on the engineering drawings, and if awarded the contract will
build the product.

Fabrication Processes:
• Turning • Welding
• Boring • Drilling
• Threading • Metal Cutting
• Cutting • Threading
Project Assembly

Mechanical assembly is a common term in the industrial and manufacturing

context. It is the process used in the line of assembly production. As
products are moved through the chain, parts are added at certain points of
the line.
Testing

Mechanical testing includes testing each part of the machine/robot

individually followed by the complete testing after which the project is
ready to be used.
Parts/Components Used

 DC Motor
 Collector Jaw
 Frame Bed
 Mounts
 Chain
 Sprockets
 Couplings
 Shaft
 Collector Bin
 Joints & Mounts
 Screws & Bolts
Motors
A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical energy
into mechanical energy. The most common types rely on the forces produced by magnetic fields.
Nearly all types of DC motors have some internal mechanism, either electromechanical or electronic, to
periodically change the direction of current flow in part of the motor.

DC motors were the first type widely used, since they could be powered from existing direct-current
lighting power distribution systems. A DC motor's speed can be controlled over a wide range, using
either a variable supply voltage or by changing the strength of current in its field windings.
Shafts / Axle
An axle is a central shaft for a rotating wheel or gear. On wheeled vehicles, the axle may be
fixed to the wheels, rotating with them, or fixed to the vehicle, with the wheels rotating
around the axle.[1] In the former case, bearings or bushings are provided at the mounting
points where the axle is supported. In the latter case, a bearing or bushing sits inside a central
hole in the wheel to allow the wheel or gear to rotate around the axle. Sometimes, especially
on bicycles, the latter type axle is referred to as a spindle.

Shafts/Axle can be manufactured from industries by online order by submitting your

shaft design
Sprokets & Chains
A sprocket or sprocket-wheel is a profiled wheel with teeth, or cogs, that mesh with a
chain, track or other perforated or indented material. The name 'sprocket' applies generally
to any wheel upon which radial projections engage a chain passing over it. It is
distinguished from a gear in that sprockets are never meshed together directly, and differs
from a pulley in that sprockets have teeth and pulleys are smooth.
Sprockets are used in bicycles, motorcycles, cars, tracked vehicles, and other machinery.
Chains & Sprokets can be obtained from special chain sproket suppliers or online.
Bearing Housing
As we know to obtain any frictionless rotary motion we need bearings to be
fitted on the shaft and to fix the bearing in the machine we need bearing
housings.
Bearing housings can be made of different types and sizes according to the
requirement.
It can be made up of any material which is suitable to the machine and
climatic conditions where the machine is to be used.
Bearing housings can be obtained from special bearing housing
suppliers or online.
Coupling and spacers
A coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their
ends for the purpose of transmitting power. Couplings do not
normally allow disconnection of shafts during operation, however
there are torque limiting couplings which can slip or disconnect when
some torque limit is exceeded.
Spacer is a metal cylindrical part with threading on its both end used
to give spacing between two parallel parts.

Couplings and spacers can be obtained from special coupling and

spacers suppliers or online.
